I just took another quick peek on ebay. I see 5 completed auctions, 4 of which sold between $119.95 and $150. One was $500 but that HAS to be a bogus bid. It'll be interesting to see how many of these start popping on ebay this week after everyone gets them in the mail.

I for one am keeping mine!

Jesus, what's up with these contradictory comments. Ok, let me see if I can understand this one. Heads up for people that bought this 9/13 or after, likely no bonus disc. So basically before 9/13, you will get the disc.

But then you say you will only get a bonus disc if you preordered it WAY in advanced. Whats WAY in advanced? 2 months? I pre ordered mine at the end of August.
So which is it? Before 9/13, you get one, or WAY in advanced whatever that means?

Fun thread. So I may get His Name Was Jason disguised as CLM, and maybe or maybe not a bonus disc. Lol

I talked to customer service over the phone. Anyone who didn't pre order prior to 9/13 WILL NOT receive a bonus DVD despite the site saying nothing about that.

I haven't received a confirmation for shipping but it sounds like some didn't and still received their's. Maybe I'll have mine tonight.

Received mine today with the bonus disk in a sleeve (which fits nicely in the spot normally reserved for booklets). Will watch some of it tonight.

Says nothing about pre ordering! Just says you must purchase directly from the site which (mind you is $5-10 more expensive than Amazon) is what I did and many others did I'm sure. What a disappointment.

I didn't get that impression - I haven't been paying very much attention and I got the impression that some of the material would be from when they conducted interviews for His Name Was Jason but not a great deal of it.

But at the bottom it still says this:

Either way I bought mine on 9/14, if I don't receive a bonus disc they'll be getting an earful as the site doesn't mention pre order's only and that's complete BS as I could have bought it cheaper from Amazon.

regarding the "its 85% reused footage"

the first doc was 90mins long....this one is 7hrs, 11hrs if you count the bonus disc. so even if they used footage from before, its obviously footage that never made it into the final cut of His Name Was Jason. i mean according to an earlier post, the chapter on Friday Part 1 is 45mins long...so they spend half the length of HNWJ talking about ONE movie.

do the math. so a more accurate comment would be:

"its 85% footage filmed during HNWJ"

but its still 99% new footage as it never made it to the public. although i know the tablet version of the CLM book had video interviews added so i wouldnt be surprised that whoever bought that version might see a bit more "repeats".

The web site says nothing at all about having to pre-order to get the DVD. It clearly states you order from the web site you get it. I ordered mine on the 12th, so I should be ok. If this is true and you ordered on the 13th or later I would do a screen capture of the web site right now and save it on your computer for proof in case they change the web site offer anytime soon. I screen captured it and kept a copy on my computer just in case.

No, I did hear or read them say they were using HNWJ interviews but I have been keeping a close eye on things so maybe most people didn't know that. I guess it makes sense to use that footage and spend time looking for other people, it's just going to be the same stories again anyway.

Where was that the case? As far as I've seen, it's being portrayed as the definitive documentary on the series but I think people might have just assumed this ("no HNWJ") or taken a comment about it not being "just footage from interviews conducted for His Name Was Jason" to mean it would be none of that footage or something. Like if they said they were conducting all new interviews with people, everyone just assumes that means everybody when it might just mean a few people. Things like that.

I don't understand why people are even annoyed about this. It doesn't really change what the breadth of content within this film itself is, whether it's largely derived from footage shot years ago for something else (which often wasn't used because it wasn't "in line with what the studios wanted people to think" nor a runtime)...or not.
