[Show spoiler]After watching every episode of the series but the finale, everything Walt did wasn't worth it. He should have stopped when he used up the first drum of Methylamine he and Jesse stole and went their separate ways.

All because of Tuko's sidekick opened his mouth about who Walt and Jesse worked for started the long chain of events that led to innocent people dying.

Agreed. Except I think he never should have cooked in the first place.

That too but I'm at a crossroads on that. I understand he wanted to leave money for his family but.... I dunno.

It really has got very sad in that aspect knowing that he has come to realize that it has been all for nothing..
It ended up that he spent more effort trying to get the cash than he spent trying to be there for his family...
Nothing new but money really is the root of evil and cAn turn a good man bad.
"money really is the root of evil"

If you are quoting, it is incorrect

The LOVE of money is the root of all evil

What an episode! Can't believe it all ends next week...

So many notable scenes especially the ones with Todd

Also, congrats to Anna Gunn and the rest of BB on the Emmy wins

[Show spoiler]Poor Jesse, first he gets Jane to break free of her pesky sobriety, then she chokes to death on her own vomit. Now he lets Andrea get shot in the back of the head because living in a hole is worse than Brock having a mother.

His Christian Mingle profile probably reads: "Kind, Loving, Will Get you Killed for Selfish Reasons"

There's just too many things going on. Seems hard to believe they're wrapping up the series in barely 40 minutes of air time remaining. Think we're going to be left with a lot of things unresolved.

Just my two cents about tonight’s episode…

[Show spoiler]
Kind of bummed at the Saul Goodman ending, kind of hoping he would go out in a blaze of glory as opposed to vanishing to Nebraska never to be heard from again until the prequel airs…

Dug the idea that the life erasing really wasn’t what Walt expected. I thought it was good character development for him to be secluded and only have his thoughts to drown in. Which is completely evident in the fact that he had all but given up the Heisenberg persona until the last act.

I don’t really like the idea that Walt’s family thinks he murdered Hank. I know it’s supposed to drive the story and it makes it easier and more justifiable to him to leave them alone and in turn give them a better life but, come on! It’s made Jr think his dad is a monster and will not hear him out for Walt to try and “justify” his actions. I really hope that’s cleared up in the finale.

Kind of bummed Jesse didn’t escape. Sure, I hated him for ratting on Walt but at the same time this guy has been beaten up so many times that it becomes enough. Let him succeed in something Vince, please! Plus, I really think Walt wants Jesse alive, even if they never communicate again.

The shocking moment is Todd just flat out killing Andrea and making Brock an orphan. Horrible way to show Jesse why he needs to stay in line and it took Todd from being creepy to just evil.

The Heisenberg persona is back! It was dormant for months but Walt’s ego got the better of his actions. Kind of liking the idea that the machine gun is for Todd’s uncle and his gang but I have this odd feeling that everyone; meaning Walt and Jesse die in the epic show down.

But I get it, all of this would have been for nothing if Walt loses that money. The welfare of his family is at stake. Really hoping somehow Walt survives but it looks more and more like an epic ending with just the painful memory of Walt in Skyler, Jr and Holly’s minds.

Which is why I wasn't a huge fan of tonight's episode. It's 4:30 in the morning and I can't sleep.

Quietly epic sounds appropriate- very nice. But near glacial pace? I've seen a lot of posts here and elsewhere talking about slow/boring/whatever.
[Show spoiler]Yes there were some slow burns, but to me they were packed full of tension. The thought of Walt being cooped up in that cabin, totally isolated, totally powerless, his whole world having crashed, his family lost and him hiding in fear, impotent to improve his pitiful lot- that's a living hell. Death would seem a relief compared to that stark existence. The slow pace reflected how painfully slow time must have passed for Walt gated within his own personal ninth circle. I felt that sense of darkness- his physical, emotional and spiritual forces all dying away, as all-important hope fades into the mists.

Too much to bear, he wills himself to action, risks his life for a mere $100K care package, but gets totally blown out of the water by his son. In utter disgrace and total defeat, he throws in the towel and tells the DEA- here I am, come and get me. Only to have some slime committed by the "Blacks" stab his ego deep enough that he decides to go out on his own terms and escapes by a whisker, Heisenberg style. Heeeeee's baaaaacckkkkkkk.....

I think the pace was perfect. It was total adrenaline-pumping time during Jesse's escape attempt, with perfect music (as always) that had that driving bass beat simulating 100 MPH heartbeats. Then after getting caught- wham, Todd's full-on Psycho. Pure pathos w/ the chilling addition of a true sociopath's idea of consolation: Nothing personal, just business. Jesse's form of hell seems even harsher than Walt's. That's why I think Jesse will be the one to end Walt, either during or after the massacre-to-come at the Nazi Prison Camp (w/ that barbed wire, that compound really does recall those labor camps).

Oh- and we got glimpses into Sky's and Marie's hell as well. Was it too slow when we watched Sky in agony at her situation, knowing the DEA will give her AND her family hell if she doesn't help them, but her powerless to help? Such thick emotion dripping throughout the scene; these moments fraught w/ feelings are just as intense as the action scenes, imo. Matter of fact, I think BB's ability to balance things like action/tension/pace/perspective, etc. is one of the things that make it such a stellar show.

Maybe I'm just a fanboy, but I was thoroughly mesmerized (again) by tonight's show and didn't see it as a "set-up" episode at all, even though it did a great job of setting the stage for the finale. Tonight was a series of displays of the misery suffered by everyone Walt has ever cared about. He is the danger; he is the cancer.

And now that everything's gone to hell, all that's left is for Walt to take one last stab at self-determination and play out the hand he's dealt himself- to the bitter end.

So much sadness tonight, mirroring our sadness that this roller-coaster ride extraordinaire is on the getting ready to crest that final drop. I know it will be thrill-packed, but then- Boom, it's over. The final death.

Bring it on!
