Any good graphic novel compilations out there for GG? I hadn't heard of them until now, my comic reading days are before this. I do like to pick up the odd graphic novel now a days, don't want to waste my time with single issues.

Thanks. I may check it out. I like the artwork so that is a big selling point.

But again, that comes down to the cinema - not Marvel. Because trailers aren't 'attached' in the way some wording on websites would have you think. Marvel released a trailer for Thor 2 ready to be played with screenings of Iron Man 3, they did their part - it was up to the cinema chain whether they actually played it or not.

Sorry to sound like I'm beating a dead horse but the way you say Marvel are "usually buggers for pimping out their next movie" makes it sound like you're saying they were slacking this time or that they made the call. But - speaking from a UK POV here - it's all down to the cinema.

nah I meant it in that Marvel and future movie promo goes hand in hand (and in a neutral tone, not the negative one you've picked up on. Apologies for that)

But I get ya. I just thought that 'attached' meant exactly that, worldwide. If something is attached to a movie, its attached to all showings of said movie, not just US showings.
I understand that UK cinemas don't abide by those rules but the only other 'attached' stuff I was aware of, were the TDKR thing ahead of Avengers - which U K got - and MoS ahead of TDKR, again, which the UK got. basically I wasn't aware UK cinemas could essentially ignore these attachments.

Either way, regardless, its unlikely the UK will see any future Marvel goodies 'attached; ahead of current Marvel movies being shown

i think the reason they are skipping over Thanos for A2 is that he is going to be so powerful, that the Avengers as they are now, won't be able to handle him and they want to be able to have them call in these others to include GotG and maybe whom ever else they make a movie for before A3. i think it will take all of them to deal with Thanos and his forces and there will be enough folks to just barely do that then.

it will be like a giant live action crossover!

i am hopeful that Thanos will have the IG by then or be a jewel or two away from it's completion!

It would be cool if the entirety of Phase 3 was spent fighting Thanos, or slowly revealing some massive plan of his piece by piece.

Funny you mention this because last night I was thinking about how Thanos could possibly have had his hands in everything to lead up to the big build up of Avengers 3.

That's what I'm assuming it'll be as well. I think we're all on the same page about that.

Do you know if Avengers 3 will be the last Avengers movie like they'll pass the torch to a different team like Midnight Sons, Inhumans or Guardians?

Probably not. The avengers is know for having a rotating door of members, so I have a feeling that's how it'll be handled in the movies.

Again -depends on the cinema. I saw Iron Man 3 at IMAX (had the Thor trailer) and Cineworld (didn't have the Thor trailer).

Even the ones you cited regarding TDKR/MoS were down to the cinema - I remember seeing the emails from Warners requesting them (but even then it's definitely a request, not a demand - a very polite request at that). In the case of TDKR and Avengers that was simply because TDKR was the next big comic book blockbuster and it was only 3 months away so cinemas would have been trailering it anyway.

As I mentioned, no trailers are 'attached' any more - the word has stuck but the concept itself is long gone now that 35mm prints are practically non-existent for new releases (which is where the phrasing comes from as they would be physically attached to the start of the print). Even in the US they're not attached and it's not mandatory, as seen in threads where US folk complain that their showing didn't have an 'attached' trailer on. But, on the whole, they do seem to go along with the studio requests more than we do.

Besides, it's not like having Marvel trailers in front of the previous film was a regular occurrence - the only trailer trailer crossovers were Incredible Hulk being trailered in front of Iron Man and Captain America in front of Thor - both of which were due to the later films only being a few months from release. None of the other films had trailers released with them for the next film in the series.

So - and I promise this will be the final time I blab on about this - the Marvel trailers will continue to be 'attached' in the same way they ever were - if a trailer is released for the next film in the series (which is almost certain now that the gaps between the films are smaller with us having two a year) then the UK will get the trailers the same time as the US and it'll be up to the individual cinema chains whether or not to show them, a lot of which will come down to timing (for example, you're more likely to see a trailer for Captain America on Thor, a release only six months way, than you are Guardians, a film ten months away). The only way Marvel can guarantee a trailer to be shown is to include it as the end credits stinger, as they did with the Avengers footage at the end of Captain America.

To finish with this somewhat on topic - if Marvel release a Guardian's trailer in time for Thor (which was the original point) then yes, it will be released for the UK as well, it just likely won't be shown at all cinemas.

I shall stop being dull and droning on about this now
