This site's review of Amityville 3-D is atrocious. The reviewer has no clue what 3-D films in the early-mid 80s looked like -- the issues he describes are artifacts of the Arrivision process.

He also seems to think Damiani directed it. It's actually Richard Fleischer -- and the review still hasn't been corrected.

Par for the course, regrettably, with some of the recent "reviews" the site has run recently.

(Whew, my memory was right, they DID all look like that. )

The 3D is AWESOME!! This is what I remember about loving 3D in the 80s and what kept me loving it still today! It's not the kind of 3D we have been getting the past few years, it's gimmick and it's very in your face!

Wow, after the horrid review here I was very worried but I am absolutely thrilled with this release. Mind you on my Active there's some ghosting, but on the passive set it's just incredible. Scream Factory rocks.

Hmmm...there's one thumbs up from a fellow member. Still deciding what to do regarding this release. Oz, Wax, Croods, and Mermaid is already taking a lot of my $$. We'll see.

I'll wait till you can buy this outside of the box set. I'm sure the Blu-ray 3D disc only will be available on eBay in month or so.

Default Awesome 3D!!!!

If you are on the fence about this (as far as the 3D goes), hop of the fence and buy it. The 3D is amazing. This is the way 3D movies should be presented. It is layered well with plenty of depth. The pop outs, man the pop outs are in your face!!!! Any director about to film a 3D movie should watch this as reference material. The movie itself is kind of meh, but the 3D makes up for it. If you are a fan of old school 3D, you will love this title.
