The first season is and will always be my favorite, how anyone could be bored with it seems impossible and the way the OP was describing it makes me think he's a troll. Everyones got their own taste but to call this show like desperate housewives is about as far off as it can get, Id say if you don't like the fantastic first episodes then the show isn't for you. It doesn't "get better" its already great from the get go. I think you're a troll trying to stir fans up though

Nothing will fill that hole, that emptiness inside. This show was the cream of the crop. I watch several other shows but after discovering BB, I find myself comparing the acting and writing and just shaking my head.

Ha, I did that recently while watching revolution with my wife. Probably not the best show to start trying to get into right after breaking bad. Giancarlo Esposito rode up on a horse and I yelled "GUSTAVO". I have just started the shield for the first time and I'm enjoying that quite a bit. I still need to try to push myself through the last couple seasons of lost, and I haven't watched sons of anarchy since season 2. I'll probably start both of those from the beginning though since it's been so long since I've seen them.

I think Jonathan Banks(Mike Ehrmantraut) said it best on Talking Bad the other night:

"I am sappy and a sentimental guy, I've done this 46 years professionally. This is as good as it gets. I think we all, and I certainly am, a little adrift from such an experience of where you truly cared and are so proud of the material. Then you literally fell in love with all these people. We were all so happy to be there."

And I think that is reflected in the final product and why the show turned out so good.

I love season 1. SO under-rated.

It sure is, I remember watching I think it was "cats in the bag" I could be mistaken though for the first time and the scene when
[Show spoiler]The guy they are dissolving in the bathtub spills out and drips down through the ceiling and they are scooping up the disgusting goop that was his body and flushing it down the toilet
and I was like "wow this show is definitely something different and not afraid to push the boundries" and if I wasn't hooked already that definitely sealed the deal for me that this wasn't gonna be some run of the mill show. That scene was so dark yet comical in a way too, it was perfect.

Gus is not really surprising. He acts like a chicken lover in Sesame Street, and he did in BrBa .

Nielsen SoundScan data reveals that digital song sales for “Baby Blue” — which played as White’s last moments on earth occurred at the end of the finale — jumped 2,981 percent over the previous week.

The song, included on Badfinger’s 1971 album “Straight Up” and released as a single the following year — logged 5,300 sales in the last few hours of Sunday night, versus 200 sales the prior week.

The “Breaking Bad” bump also had a ripple effect on the group’s catalog; the song “Day After Day” was up 134 percent, while “No Matter What” jumped 78 percent, “Come and Get It” surged 81 percent and “Without You” climbed 260 percent.

“Baby Blue” also received a huge bump on U.S. terrestrial radio stations, with a 1,175 percent jump on Monday over the previous Monday.

On the streaming front, services including Rhapsody, Rdio, Spotify, AOL Radio and Xbox Music reported 44,000 streams on Monday — a 20,000 percent jump over the 200 streams that the song received on Sunday.

[Show spoiler]I saddled up and away I did go,
Riding alone in the dark.
Maybe tomorrow
A bullet may find me.
Tonight nothing's worse than this
Pain in my heart.

I am going to miss this show.

And do y'all think Jesse

IMO Walt went there to take everyone out, including Jesse and himself. Only after seeing Jesse and having a change of heart about him did he decide to grab him and drop to the floor- otherwise, he would have just let himself die in the bullet spray that got everyone else (except Todd). This fits into his mindset of going out in a way of his choosing. As it worked out, he still did this and it was still his own bullet that did him in (a nice poetic touch). Even though he gave Jesse the option to take him out, that was still Walt's choice.

I think Walt had a good bit of self-loathing for what he had done and what he had become, though he didn't wear it on his sleeve like Jesse. I think he wanted to get caught- at least subconsciously. Why else would he 1- tell Hank that Gale wasn't Heisenberg and even more telling, 2- leave "Leaves of Grass" out where it could be found- easily found- in the only bathroom in the house when his hard-drinking DEA bro-in-law is coming over? He obviously knew how incriminating it was since he freaked out right away when he couldn't find it. WW/Heisenberg was an incredibly fastidious man- why else would he have been so careless?

I think it's the other way around- the show was so good that it created this incredible atmosphere and the bonds among everyone involved just got deeper and deeper. They shared in an incredibly successful endeavor that was also an artistic tour-de-force. This was one of those once in a lifetime experiences where everything coalesced- great writing, great acting, directing, sound design, cinematography, etc. As those involved start to see the high quality of what they're producing, it raises the motivation to at least maintain, if not improve that quality.

I'm sure the chemistry among the cast members, on- and off-screen, was a big part of the greatness of this show, but I think it all starts w/ quality writing- and VG and his writers made such amazing scripts, everyone involved was swept into a desire to fulfill the promise of greatness they read on the pages.

Of all the major characters- perhaps even some of the minor ones- this will likely be the high watermark of their careers. Success breeds strong connections. It has to be incredibly gratifying to be part of such an awesome creation.
