How do you clean your Plasma? - Blu-ray Forum

Hi I recently purchased a 42pz77u and have noticed that it is gathering a lot of dust on the screen, and the housing around it. Is there any special care that should be given when I clean it? How do you clean yours?

MONSTER SCREEN CLEANER---

KEEPS MY PLASMA SCREEN CLEAN AND I ALSO USE IT TO RESHINE MY PIANO BLACK FINISH ALSO!

Get a windex and a paper towel. Use your left hand for spraying and the right hand for wiping. Circle around by going horizontal from top to bottom.

Actually, this would be good to know, as I will be picking up a 42PZ85, or 42PZ80 in the next couple weeks.

DO NOT USE WINDEX UNDER ANY CIRCUMSTANCES

Do not use paper towels either. They're far too rough and can create small scratches. Use a soft, 100% cotton, preferably lint-free cloth. An old t-shirt will do in a pinch.

Windex, and other ammonia based cleaners will strip the anti-glare coating right off your screen

Use distilled water or one of the commercial cleaners for that purpose.

My Elite is a huge dust magnet. I simply use microfiber cloths and they're fine.

samsung gave me a blue napkin to clean mine and it works nicely with dust

also nice to clean my ps3

paper towels are like sandpaper on the screen depending on the towels

I also use the Monster Cloth and screen cleaner

this brush comes in handy

I would also use the blue cloth that samsung gave me but all it does is move the dust around, not necessarily pick it up. The moster cloth thing works amazingly well, i highly recommend it, the first time i used it i was simply amazed at the difference.

I use a swiffer duster on mine. It does the job pretty good.

I saw the warning in my Panasonic manual to avoid Windex and paper towels.

So far, I have been using a cotton cloth with no water. I probably dust it every 2 or 3 weeks.

Use a slightly damp micro-fiber cloth and you'll be sound as a pound.

I think the swiffer dusters are treated with something that may not be good for the plasma. Please check the box for the warnings...

All you need is a microfiber cloth and a very small amount warm water. If you have a more stubborn smudge you can use a very very small amount of dish washing soap. This works great and is all I have ever needed to do (cheap too).

Windex can remove the coating on your screen and paper towels can scratch it.

Hi i wouldnt use any substance at all, all i use is a cd cleaning cloth that i just wipe across the screen & frame.
