Or we can connect Final Destination 3 with Smash. After surviving a roller coaster tragedy and seeing all her friends die, Mary Elizabeth Winstead's character turns into an alcoholic and falls in love with someone who loves alcohol as much as she does. Death was holding off on her because she was already slowly killing herself with hard alcohol. But now that she's sober, death is back to finish her off. Putting down the bottle really sucks.
