I'd much rather have that than a re-casted reboot. Perhaps a TV series would work too, but a faithful adaptation by a US cable channel.
If you're a big ASOUE fan, which it sounds like, does that mean you're part of 667 DA?
Also you should come on over to the LS Wiki. I'm 1 of the 2 admins there

P.s. You got any pics of LS you could show me (maybe best to do it on a different thread!)

Anyway...on topic.......
Alright film. Got on DVD. Won't be buying.

Thank you!

It strikes me as odd that we still don't have stock photos of this and the upcoming box set online.

Only the European version, comes with a ton of subtitles and audio-tracks but no extras.

Paramount US is much beter with cataloge movies, those come with extras.

Mine arrived today. No slip in case you're all wondering. I watched a fair bit of it and here is what I have to say:

- Good PQ, nothing special. It's not very sharp and quite soft in places, but I'd say it was an improvement on the first film. 4/5
- Good AQ. Again - nothing special, but pretty good. It has DTS-HD 5.1 like it says on the box, unlike the first Blu-ray release which had Dolby True HD on the box and only had Dolby Digital and DTS. 4/5
- No extras which I'm totally gutted about seeing as how the DVD had a lot of extras and even the Blu-ray of the first film had its DVD extras. Paramount have really dropped the ball here.

Picked this up today in HMV, £9.99 for anyone who is interested.

Shame about lazy Paramount not including the bonus content, they did for the first movie. Will have to (re) buy the DVD at some point for the extra features. Can get it dirt cheap now.

I'm glad I kept my DVD now.

By the way, I just went into my cupboard and found my Tomb Raider cap hanging up. I got it back in 2001 when Weetabix did a coupon thing.

Just import the US disc. Region Free and all extras. It doesn't come with a ton of audio-tracks.

Paramount have been excluding extras on their catalogue Blu-Rays for a while now. They suck big donkey balls when it comes to extras!

To be honest, there aren't many Paramount releases that don't have no disc art. The majority are all plain. Considering the Paramount/Warner release has the same box, it's unlikely that the Warner/US version will have disc art.

Still, go for the US release if you want the extras.

Exactly. Black disc art, with the movie title. That's all Warner US are bothering with, at the moment.

I have the exact same cap!

Thanks for the pictures. The lack of extras is puzzling (what is with Paramount UK?), but I've got the DVD anyway.

US BD cases are much thinner. That's gonna make me so OCD... XD Oh well.

Do we know if the US are getting a double pack like we are next month?

Apparently the US disc isn't even Region Free...

So i watched this last night and I'm really pleased with the PQ/AQ. This movie looks fantastic in hi def, great clarity and the colours are wonderful. The only downside is it really shows up the phony looking day for night scene in Africa towards the end with Butler, Chris Barrie and the other guy. it looks very fake. But other than that this is a great looking movie with a wonderful array of locales and a fast pace.

If they dropped the features for this then it's not looking good for Sum of all fears at the end of the month.

I always thought that Paramount were good with including extras.

What other titles have they dropped the extras on recently?

Cast Away was the big one for me. Although I had the special edition DVD so it didn't matter so much. And Zoolander was another notable one.

You should check the Aussie section from time to time, as we usually get the same discs as the UK from Paramount. Recently we have been getting a few Paramount catalog titles a month or two before the UK, The Sum of All Fears was released here in Australia on the 31st of July, and it's exactly the same as the U.S disc extras and all.
