Those uniforms were only used for a handful of episodes.

Picked up the sampler from Amazon with some points I had racked up and I thought Encounter at Farpoint looked amazing, can't wait to pick up the first 3 seasons now that I've had a taste!

Back when Season 3 and Best of Both Worlds were released, BoBW has a Clear Secondary SlipCover.
Where can I get more of those? My Season Sets are starting to "trapazoid" as it were.
Also did any copy of Redemption come with one? Mine didn't.
I think they look a lot better when housed in the clear SlipCover over the Standard Cover.

I've held off on the TNG sets because honestly, it's just too much money for me to be spending, although I'm a Trek fan and would have loved to have seen these on Blu, but holding out has an upside sometimes.

I hadn't been to Hastings in some time, but went there this morning just to look around and find some new books possibly. I was looking around in the "New Arrivals" section of the Used DVD/Blu Ray and found TNG Seasons One and Three in the very back. Obviously someone had put these back there because all the other Blus were in another stack. Hastings always has the "Buy One Used and Get Another For A Dollar" sale going on so I took advantage of it. The price on them were 49.99 which is a little pricey for me, but well worth it for two seasons. I quickly snatched them up and brought them home with me. Upon opening them, I noticed they were still in the original shrink wrap with a Best Buy price tag still attached so they'd never been opened. Score!

So glad to finally have some of these sets, just hopefully I'll find another bargin and get Seasons Two and Four!

Since you said these were unopened... you might want to check out the forums for how to tell whether or not you got a corrected season one set or not. IF you got the original pressing, you would need to contact the manufacturer for a disc exchange of the corrected discs.

Season 1 has a Yellow Barcode.
Season 2 has no re-issue.
Season 3 has no problems I believe. (I mean, I've noticed some FX errors, and it's the same one consistantly throughout the show: as the Enterprise passes by heading towards the screen, the Blue Array distorts and becomes "loose" and doesn't match the Ship's movement and it's in EVERY Season...)
Season 4 I'm taking my time with so i don't know yet.

OMG!
Datalore is THAT early in the season StarDate wise?????
I'm gonna have to go and rewatch everything in StarDate order!!!!
Seasons 1, 5 & 7 are the most out of StarDate order.
A few Season have one episode each where the is NO StarDate...

I will have to check that out.

I have only watched the first episode, but I am just amazed with the work they've done. No wonder these sets were so expensive! The colors are just so crisp and clear and everything looks like it could have been filmed yesterday as opposed to twenty years ago. I've only seen these episodes in low definition, even on the DVDs they were not that great, but wow these are just mind blowingly good looking.

I was reading up on Seasons 5, 6 and 7 to see what to expect from the final 3 seasons and realized something. Or at least I hope it proves to be something. The series finale aired the week of May 23, 1994 and with 2014 being 20 years since it aired, I'm thinking Season 7 will likely be released on either May 20 or 27th, 2014 to coincide with said anniversary. That being said, I'm guessing based on current patterns that we can expect Season 6 to drop in very late February 2014.

In fact, based on current release patterns, I'm actually thinking we'll see Season 7 of TNG and Season 4 of Enterprise released within 2 or 3 weeks of each other which would likely be the time of an announcement, if any, for the remastering of DS9.

Anyone agree/disagree or have knowledge that I don't? Oh, one other thing, if CBS/Paramount were to decide not to remaster DS9 and Voyager, would they make an announcement to say so or would there just simply be nothing said? Whether its a yay or nay, I'd like to know because if not, I'll get the dvds of DS9 and Voyager but if yay, then I'll wait.

Like your avatar! One of my favorite movies from one of my favorite directors.

My guess is that we'll get an announcement that they are going to do DS9 sometime in the next 6 months or so. In other words, well before they release season 7 of TNG, I'm hoping they are going to give an announcement to start building anticipation for DS9.

If they decide not to do it we'll hear, but we probably won't get a big announcement. No news is bad news in this case. As I imagine you know, Trekcore.com is usually the best source for info on stuff like this.

Only on Disc Two of the First Season, but I'm still amazed with the quality. It just baffles me, especially the updated CGI which doesn't look out of place, but just right with the upgraded crispness of the original film.

Almost all of the FX for the first few seasons are traditional effects rather than CGI. They hired ILM for some of them, and so they should look good! The fx had a resolution and quality we've just never been able to see before now.

Any guesses as to how likely it'd be we'd get a complete series release on blu-ray sometime after the 7th season is released?

I'd say it's all but guaranteed. It may just be a bundle like the TOS one or it could be a box set. Suffice to say this is Paramount and they have always milked multiple releases for every film and series across each format. No reason to suspect they won't do exactly the same with Blu-ray.

Thanks. I'm sorely tempted to start buying the individual seasons, but I know from past series' blu-ray releases that I prefer having a complete box set over the single seasons. I have bought the movie box set, though!

Like atexp80 suggested, I'm guessing that we'll just see a bundle of the single seasons like with the Original Series and not a boxset.

I just hope that they don't do what they did when they were doing the DVS's and make an Exclusive Disk that only comes with the Season 1-7 Set/Bundle....

hopefully they will hold off a year or so before they release the set - it ticks me when they release it with the last season. I know it is about business but it is bad business to release them individually but never bother to mention they will release the set as well. it isn't a given that any set will be released. At least Law & Order did it right - release the set and then keep releasing individual seasons.

What they should do is when the release the set, strip all the special features so you are getting just the episodes and promos. the people who buy the seasons as they come out are the ones you are making money from and will buy future releases - for the most part, the people who buy the set aren't. Why reward them and punish the others by selling the set with all the features for less? or worse, add a bonus disc of stuff - that one really gets me

In the case of the TNG set I believe the bonus disc just compiled all the Best Buy bonus disc featurettes into one. So if you bought all the TNG sets there at BB on release you didn't miss anything.

The featurettes are included on the BDs so CBS would have to come up with something original if they did it again.

There's so much content packed into these releases already that I really can't imagine what they'd have left for a bonus disc. Maybe retailer exclusives (like Best Buy's CinemaNow content from Season 3), but there haven't been many of those for the Blu-ray releases. Perhaps they'll pack in the feature length episodes and/or their bonus content, but that wouldn't be anything new that isn't already available.
