I noticed they went from using USPS to just using UPS and that's when shipping slowed down. Guess they got tired of people getting the movies early.
I got a shipping notification for The Heat, but not Pacific Rim. wonder what's going on?

Well interestingly enough I did just get an email that The Heat shipped.

Also wasn't thrilled the POP slimline Blu-Ray cases went away for the cheaper cardboard cards. I actually reused the slimlines, and thought they looked better on the shelves. But I'm sure they took up more storage space, weighed more, cost more, and had more damage.

My copy of Defiance went UPS and it says it will be here Monday. But the Heat went via USPS and is sitting in my PO Box now according to tracking. Let me go check...

Defiance came today but looks like The Heat won't be here until Tuesday. I hate it when they use UPS Ground because I never get it early. Either day of or lately day after release. No info yet on Pacific Rim so guessing it won't be here for release.

I called Vudu shipping and they said that the studio did not send them very many copies of Pacific Rim and that they have tried 4 times to get in contact with the studio with no success for more copies, said they have no idea when they will come in.

Basically a bunch of bull.

They also said they will be shipping new stock UPS Ground so don't hold your breaths for overnight shipping.

See my experience in the thread about PR pre-order in particular for full details, but basically placed the order/redeemed the code on 9/6, but order was held by Vudu and not sent to shipping warehouse until 31 days later on 10/7. No way am I getting mine on time. Oh yeah, and they are out of product. Though how you run out when you have an ADVANCE count of copies sold is somewhat beyond me...

Their system has to be out of whack, because when she verified the date I placed the order, she said it showed on the system 9/4, which is the date I purchased it on here on the Trade/Sell forum and paid/redeemed immediately.

I don't understand how their system can be that out of whack.

Sucks either way, I am totally bummed I won't have it tomorrow in hand, but this is the only preorder I have had late, so I'm not going to complain. They're a great value especially when you get them for a good deal.

I do agree, its asinine to run out of stock when you have a headcount of how many preorders you have accounted for. This seems more like Warner Brothers dropping the ball as their distribution department clearly couldn't accommodate the demand for this title.

I may go at midnight and pick up the exclusive then return it when my preorder comes in but I don't know.

My theory is that their count has to do with the PAID in-store pre-orders. Then they go to ship them and see there are 10 times as many orders as they had anticipated having. I think we all know how the sellers on eBay are getting their copies of the pre-orders to sell for so cheap. The shipping problems didn't really start until recently as more and more copies of the pre-orders have shown up on eBay. I could be completely wrong but that is my theory.

I didn't think about that immediately but it did cross my mind. I do hope the people I am purchasing mine from are legitamite sources but it has crossed my mind a few times.

I would have to say I agree you with on this one. How does one sell 45 copies of a title for 15.99 when the store price is 22.96 + tax? Plus with ebay and paypal fees that means they would be taking a hit per one sold for almost $10. Something is amiss and I think vudu is going to either stop the preorders from happening or require a receipt verification when inputting data which I am fine with. I for one like the fact of watching it early and trading a code for a code on something I do not have
