nothing personal against you, but i just get more frustrated having to sift through "use the search" or "this has been posted before" posts than the actual op. if i come across a thread heading or post that i already know about or not interested in, i simply skip or ignore it. for me, it's easier to skip/ignore it then to reply with "use the search" or "repost". but that's just me.

One thing I have noticed is that the TX-SR606 will accept 24/192 PCM and TrueHD multi-channel, whereas dts-ma 24/192 is still limited to 24/96.
On every one of the -5 receivers, from the TX-SR605 to the TX-NR905, 24/192 is only accepted in 2-channel for PCM and TrueHD. Good improvement. Wonder if it's the dts decoder chip that's limiting to 24/96 because it seems all receivers do this. Hopefully in the case of the PS3, 24/192 dts-ma can be converted to 24/192 PCM in the case of multi-channel. I've sent Ronny Katz an e-mail to ask if he knows whether or not this is possible. There are no 24/192 sources yet, but if you're converting DSD to PCM 24/176.4 none of the current Onkyo receivers accept this, it's all processed at 88.2kHz. Quote:
If you had tried searching for Onkyo in the receiver section, titles only, you would have had better luck. ![]() |

Just got word back from DTS - the PS3 can decode 24/192 dts-ma to PCM.
Of course there aren't any multi-channel 24/192 sources right now, but there are a few 2.0 channel 24/192 releases and 24/176.4 PCM is the best PCM conversion for DSD. |

almost identical specs as last years model.
This thing cant put out 140 watts per channel. 90 W + 90 W (8 ohms, 20 Hz–20 kHz 0.08%, 2 channels driven, FTC) 105 W + 105 W (8 ohms, 1 kHz, 0.7%, 2 channels driven, FTC) 110 W + 110 W (6 ohms, 1 kHz, 0.1%, 2 channels driven, FTC) |
