Adding further depth and detail to the KINGDOM HEARTS series, KINGDOM HEARTS HD 2.5 ReMIX is a fully remastered HD compilation of the PlayStation®2 computer entertainment system title KINGDOM HEARTS II FINAL MIX and the PSP® (PlayStation®Portable) system title KINGDOM HEARTS Birth by Sleep FINAL MIX. Both, previously exclusive to the Japanese market, will be available for the first time in the Americas for the PlayStation®3 computer entertainment system. Theatrical cut-scenes from the Nintendo DS(TM) title KINGDOM HEARTS Re:coded will also be included in the compilation.

Can't wait for this release, I enjoyed playin Birth By Sleep but felt it'd be much better played on the PS 3. So I guess we get the extra arena (Monster Of The Deep) where we battle Monstro the Whale along with some of the Unversed get'tin new color schemes that are included in Japan's release


Didn't get a chance to finish ReCoded (got up to battling Riku I think) so I stopped for a while back in Summer 2012, but this time I'm gon'na do my best to finish it. I was sorta hopin for ReCoded to be a game as well but I can handle the cutscenes.



What was included in KH 2's Japan Final Mix?? like extra cutscenes, exclusive powers/summons???


KH 2 was pretty good in my opinion, the only issue I had was the animation for Pride Lands, Space Paranoids (Tron) and Port Royal (Pirates Of The Caribbean), the characters in those worlds came off alil stiff, they had some life to them, hopefully the Remix will change that for me

[Show spoiler]- New cutscenes; many from the KHII novels

- Extended scenes with Roxas to help add depth to his character

- A harder difficulty called "Critical Mode"

- New Theatre Mode allowing you to rewatch cutscenes in English (By beating the game) AND Japanese (By having a completed Re:CoM game save on your memory card.)

- New Heartless enemies, such as the Org. XIII Mushrooms

- New optional boss: The Enigmatic Soldier, or ES (AKA AU1), who is harder than Sephiroth. He is refightable.

- Two new sidequests: The Org. XIII Mushrooms and the Crown Piece Hunt. The crowns you collect become pieces in puzzles which you can solve in Jiminy's journal. Solving each puzzle gets you an item.

- New map areas that make use of Growth Abilities [like Super Jump, Glide,
etc]

- New Reaction Commands

- The new secret movie is a direct follow up to the first one.

- Sora/Donald/Goofy wear Christmas-like clothes in Christmastown now

- Sora vs. Roxas is playable

- New Drive Form that resembles Sora's outfit in Kingdom Hearts, called
Limit Form, that has attacks that were exclusive to KHI, with Dodge Roll
back as its grown ability.

- MAX Drive Gauge increased to 9.

- Enemy's stats and colors changed (just like in the first FM)

- New weapons (including two new keyblades), Accessories, Abilities, and Synthesis Items.

- The 5 CoM Organization members that didn't appear in KH2 are fightable by Absent Silhouettes in various
worlds.

- All of the Organization fights are refightable by going through a new area in Hollow Bastion called the 'Cavern of Rememberance.' You fight their "data" forms and they are considerably harder. It is recommended that you are level 99 before taking them on.

Was just looking on Amazon and this already up for pre-order. The release date is set for December 31, 2014 but I know that is just a placeholder date, not the actual release date. Though I have to ask, it is currently selling for $59.99. Will this be the actual price they will sell it for or will they eventually sell it for $39.99 like Kingdom Hearts 1.5 Remix?

that's all placeholder info. Amazon even has a whole paragraph stating and explaining that on the product page

I didn't realize that the price was a placholder, but I knew the date was for sure w/o a doubt.

All the same I think at the beginning of the year I am going to pre-order this along with Battle of Z and The Amazing Spider-Man 2.

I've been too focused on movies lately to spend some time gaming. I'm right at the end of KH1 (even though I've beat it numerous times in the past), but I've been trying to get some trophies. I can't remember the last time I was on my PS3 though lol.

Wait 'till you get your hands on 2.5. The original is considered to have the weakest gameplay in the series - if you exclude CoM. It's not bad by any means but KH2 took it to another level.

I was amazed when I learned that Jungle Book was suppose to appear in Birth By Sleep but then they deleted it halfway due to space or something, correct me if I'm wrong.


Seemed like a waste to delete this world since it was partly finished, the only section of Seeonee Jungle (Jungle Book) that was finished, complete with full textures was King Louie's Temple, while Baloo's Lagoon (Bare Necessities sequence), Man Village were partly completed.

My theories on what was goin to happen in Seeonee Jungle:


Terra: explores Louie's Temple-Meetin of Shere Khan or overhears Khan speakin with Kaa bout the unversed


Aqua: starts from the village (before Mowgli meets Shanti) and works with Bageerha to bring Mowgli safely to the village or the Village asks Aqua to help vanquish Shere Khan/Unversed then she ventures to the Jungle and meets up with Mowgli/Baloo


Ventus: Meets Baloo/Mowgli at Baloo's Lagoon and embraces the Bare Necessities until Mowgli gets kidnapped by the unversed/monkeys


again this is just my guess of how the world would've played out, judging from what I watched

I'm still pretty much at the beginning of the game. I've already completed the Deep Jungle Level and am back at Traverse Town and going to deliver the Old Book to Merlin.

Few Updates for KH 2.5 Remix from a Famitsu interview with Tetsuya Nomura


Kingdom Hearts HD 2.5 Remix is being worked on by the same team who did Kingdom Hearts HD 1.5 Remix and transitioning it to HD is progressing much more smoothly than Kingdom Hearts HD 1.5 Remix.

Hasn't announced a clear release date but the Jumpfest trailer/ Kingdom Hearts official Facebook reveals a 2014 release


Like Kingdom Hearts HD 1.5 Remix, there isn’t a lot of things to change but the volume is considerable

Re:coded isn’t as long as 358/2 Days because many of the cutscenes in Days were originally from the main story. "I’ve added a new events in Disney Worlds". Also there will be new voice actors that will be appearing and we’ve just voice recorded for Alice’s world last week.

Battle scenes and "new scenarios have been added"


There will be a scene where Re:coded leads up to KINGDOM HEARTS 3D


There is a sense to summarize the plots in the HD remasters for Kingdom Hearts Hearts III but please do not think Kingdom Hearts 3D isn’t necessary for the storyline.

Quite curious if he's discussing bout adding new battles/scenarios in Birth By Sleep, if so then we could Possibly see Seeonee Jungle (Jungle Book) finally appear in the KH universe

Tetsuya Nomura explains more bout writin the new scenarios and battle scenes


Nomura: There haven’t been any changes so far. Nonetheless, we are not only making an HD version of KH2, but BBS and the Final Mix parts as well, and of course we’re implementing trophies, so it has considerable volume and I think it’s something players can enjoy thoroughly.

Nomura: The scenarios of Recoded itself are rather short within the series, so it’s not as abundant as Kingdom Hearts 358/2 Days was in KH1.5. But in accordance with the length of Days, scenes from it were structured mainly around the story involving Roxas and the series’ original characters. This time around, Recoded isn’t as long as Days, so most of the main story from the original has been converted to movie cutscenes. The events that took place in the Disney worlds have been newly made into movie cutscenes as well. Of course that means there will be new scenes that need voice recordings. Just last week they were recording the voices for events in the Alice in Wonderland world.


Nomura: After that we’re including battle scenes that we couldn’t put in at the time of Days and though they are few, we’ll be adding new scenarios too.

Nomura: Chronologically, Kingdom Hearts 3D Dream Drop Distance takes place after Recoded, so there will be scenes that fill in that gap.

So I admit that I was hopin that we'd get a new scenario for Birth By Sleep but I'm sure glad they're voicin the Disney world for ReCoded cause ReCoded was missing that small Disney magic of their characters bein voiced

so excited, I skipped the whole Ps2 generation, and only played the first last year

it was good but not I felt it was kind of overrated, but I heard that 2 is much much better
