Mauer was the USA Today Player of the Year and Gatorade Player of the Year as a quarterback his senior year of high school and ESPN ranked him as the #1 football prospect in the class of 2001. He signed to play football and baseball at Florida State but ultimately chose to sign with the Twins after he was the #1 pick in the draft.

First off that game between the Vikings and Giants last night was horrible! Freeman shouldn't have been playing, he looked lost. Adrian Petersen don't look right and I think losing his son, which was very sad, had a big effect on him. The Vikings in general are just plain terrible and they are lucky to have won 1 game. Then we have the Giants. Giant fans are tweeting and posting on facebook that this was a big win and now their season starts and blah blah blah. Really? They beat a team that didn't have a heartbeat and if they think about it their team didn't look that good either. Giants and Vikings= Pathetic! Lastly I am still steaming about that BS call against the Patriots in over time, that was one of the worst calls I have yet seen this season and I hope the Jets enjoy it because it wont happen again.

A Pats fan making fun of Giants fans for finally having something cheer about this season. Can't say I'm surprised.

So, what would you be saying if the Giants lost? That they're pathetic for losing to a team with no heartbeat.

Some people just can't be pleased.

As for the Giants fans saying their season starts right now: it's something to help take the sting out, but this season is all but lost.

The refs apparently missed a pushing players on the line of scrimmage call during the Ravens-Dolphins game on a potential game-tying 57-yard goal attempt by the Dolphins in week 5. The Dolphins kicker missed the attempt, but if the penalty had been called the Dolphins would have had a first down with about 30 seconds left and a much more manageable field goal attempt. The Dolphins turned the tape over to the NFL, who admitted the call was missed. The refs also missed a similar call when the Patriots did the same thing they were called for against the Jets when they played the Saints in week 6.
