Its a very British dystopia, beauraucratic and hopelessly inefficient, where a fly falling into a typewriter sets off a chain of events involving a minor civil servant and a woman he fantasisies about. Its also filled with black humour and spectacular visuals and has one of the best portraits of the banality of evil played by Michael Palin. A great film and it even has a fleeting contribution to the soundtrack from Kate Bush
