I just got this from a seller on Amazon for $3.70 ($6.68 shipped) used. I've been waiting to get a decent price on this and I finally did.

I enjoyed reading the spinoff sequel to it where they give an update on what happened to Oskar and Eli because if you watch the film and let the movie set in it really looks like Eli used Oskar and he will become her new servant like Hakkan was.

Flippin' Amazon. They've got a note right there on the page that says - Subtitle Details: This product features the theatrical version of English subtitles. Yet here it is and it doesn't say theatrical on the back, it says Subtitles: English, Spanish.

I see others saying they got the correct version from Amazon but mine arrived around a half hour ago and it sure looks like the wrong one to me.

Pic I took of it:

Reviving this old thread to ask the most asked question:

Where can I get the version with the Theatrical subtitles?

I live in Canada and I'm having a hard time finding them and I'm not sure about everyone's sources from 5 years ago.

The UK release has them but is RB locked.
You need to get the new version with white sleeve background. The old blue one, long since OOP, originally only had lossy audio, but was replaced to lossless audio via mail in and on later pressings.

In answer to the question of the documentary this was supposed to be added on the UK reissue (white background sleeve) as most retailers listed it as included when taking pre-orders. However when released it was found they had just recycled the corrected old disk.

Dang, that doesn't do me much good.

I saw a few pages back that Amazon.com seems to have rectified the situation, while Amazon.ca is still lacking.

Any truth to this?

I thought they tried to start phasing out the old ones as soon as the fixed version was released, and thus they probably wouldn't still have them in stock unless you were buying used or from a third party? I might be totally off, or maybe so few people have bought it in Canada that they still have the same stock from early 2009.

Not true. The UK releases of this BD, both white sleeve and blue sleeve, are region free.

Seems like it's a relatively safe bet to buy from Amazon.com, so I'll pull the trigger and let you guys know what shows up.

Damned shame about Amazon.ca not carrying anything but the terrible version. The shipping from Amazon.com is atrocious.
