Finally got a few titles I've been waiting for

Mixture of Bollywood movies (some of which are very good - if you haven't tried them before, something like Barfi or Agneepath are good ones to sample). Barfi being a little like Amelie (plus it's really well shot) & Agneepath is in the modern Bollywood hero/action/drama style... try and find some HD trailers and you'll see the visual quality.

Amazon_Bollywood_and_US_Classic.jpg

Also filling out my classic movies collection - The Man who would be King was from the USA (via a UK Amazon reseller) - and was pretty cheap (the price went up after I ordered, so maybe it was a mistake).

Hopefully more soon

Here I am back with another update

Saturday 19th October:

I wasn't opening my Entertainment Store steelbooks. For the first one, Jack Reacher, I ordered an amaray copy, but this was going to get too expensive. I've changed my mind and opened the three most recent ones. I've just cut around the sticker, leaving it on the sellophane, and put it inside the case

Monday 21st October:

Nice to see a new release from Shameless Films. Oliver! is one film I never owned previously on DVD, and I've only ever watched bits of, so it'll be good to see it properly. I've been trying to further enhance my Dogwoof collection and so have ordered quite a few titles cheap on Amazon. Annoyingly, although the majority are in cardboard cases (I've got some on their way so hopefully they don't get damaged), there are some that are in normal DVD cases. They look a bit out of place, although Revenge Of The Electric Car isn't one of them

Tuesday 22nd October:

Come As You Are (Hasta La Vista) was for a long time listed as a Blu-ray release. When I didn't see it shipping, I wondered why. I queried with Eureka on Twitter and they confirmed that it was now a DVD only release, so I placed the order for the DVD, and cancelled the other order. While looking for Dogwoof titles, I saw Last Shop Standing recommended (not one of their titles). I wasn't familiar with it, and it's a subject I'm interested in. It was probably recommended due to me ordering Sound It Out (shown on BBC HD a while back, but not the full version, and only out on DVD from Dogwoof). Finally, another title for my TV collection. I tend to pick up the ones I need when they hit the £15 mark. The season 1-3 boxset wasn't much more, but I've got the first two seasons already in slipcases, like the season 3 release

I will have a lot of Dogwoof DVD titles (not many left to get now) to show in one of my next updates, and some more steelbooks from Zavvi

I watched it this morning and enjoyed it for what it was. Some fresh ideas, but not always well utilised. It was the price that piqued my interest also, so thought it was worth a blind buy as a fan of low budget films. The transfer is 1080i/50 though I only noticed the occasional combing and even then, barely noticeable. As expected from G2 though, it could certainly be improved upon transfer wise. Audio was pretty good. No extras, just a trailer and some start-up trailers.

/\ I must get around to picking up The Wicker Man before that gorgeous looking slipbox vanishes.

Finally able to play all those Criterion releases I've been stocking up on in the B&N 50% off sale. A couple of Scream Factory releases sitting in my collection unplayed too! It's nice to finally be region free, even though I've been region free in my buying habits for the past 6 months or so. Very happy with Multiregion Magic's service too, speedy, and working the ICOS modification couldn't be simpler. Didn't see much difference between the 230 and 330 so decided to save £50 and spend it in the B&N Criterion sale early next month. Was quite sad disconnecting my region free Panasonic DVD player, which has served me for an insanely long time, which was why I chose Panasonic.

Already opened the Arrow releases to check the postcards (which is why it looks like there are two tears near the bottom of them). Halloween I will keep for next year, as I've already planned what I'm watching. Dying to see Curse Of Chucky. Very happy to have picked up House On Straw Hill before the 3,000 copies with the bonus documentary sell out.

I ordered two items from Zavvi last night in the 2 for £12 Blu-ray sale. I had £3.51 in Rewardz points which it wouldn't let me use, presumably because they were already discounted. I added another item to the basket which then allowed me to use them. I then removed that other item and so was able to get Annie and Easy A for £8.49 total

I just thought it was worth mentioning if anybody else wasn't aware

I'll be back later to show yesterdays items and also whatever comes today

ImportCDs. Only started using them a few months ago, but very impressed with them. They've been cheap and fast, which is often good enough for me.
