Default Where are the portable Blu-ray players?

Do we know if there will be a portable Bluray player anytime soon and if so do we have any specs yet? Price, Size, Manufacturer, anything? Just realized I have a vacation coming up at the end of May and I don't have a portable Blu-ray player so for a week Blu will be rejected. Thanks.

I never understood the point of portable DVD players to begin with....

In-Dash is one thing, but those little ones, what's the point... just get a laptop!

What if I receive my (2) movies from Netflix and head out on the road for (3) days and (2) nights? It sure would be nice to have something to watch in my hotel room, rather than leave my Blu-ray rentals at home.

My point Sir. Idiot is I've replaced a bunch of DVD's already. So in the future it would be nice to have a portable Blu to watch the new investment. I spoke nothing of 1080p, obviously that wouldn't matter. If done correctly with preout the portable Blu can serve as an extra player for a guest room or something.

The points would be:

(1) Without Managed Copy, or a digital copy, where are you going to get the movie to watch on that 7" or 9" screen?

The answer is to buy a DVD? To spend more money to get another copy of the movie you already own?

People buy for multiple uses, not just for home or minivan. Given a need for portability, and nobody interested in servicing that need, what happens to Blu-ray adoption?

(2) There is also audio. And there are people I know have better sound systems in their car than in their home.

Blu-ray is the defacto high-resolution audio format.

Default We Need Portable Players For Blu-ray

Surely someone out there has seen all the requests in this group and others for a portable player. Im a truck driver and have been using portable players on the road for ten years or more. I want to buy Blu-Ray movies but since the only portables out here are for regular DVD's than i have no choice. It makes no sense to have to buy a movie twice, once for the home blu-ray player and again if I want to take it on the road. I have a current library of 1500 dvd's 30 of which are Blu-Ray. If they want me to spend $$$$ on replacing the best of my library then Need to have someway of playing them on the road.
