Default Steelbook shipping packaging

Hi guys, was wondering if you can share your experience with Amazon on shipping steelbooks?

I purchase from Amazon CA and the packaging was so horrible that both times they send me the steelbooks, they were dented

Amazon UK on the other hand ships them in this cardboard that is constructed to protect steelbooks. Of course they arrive in pristine condition

I am intending to buy from Amazon Italia and would like to know if they will arrive in good shape

Thanks

I purchased the DeMille "Cleopatra" Steelbook from bestmediagroup via the Amazon UK WEB site. Every steelbook that I have purchased from many different sources have provided at least minimal shipping protection against damage. Some have provided extraordinarily great shipping protection.

bestmediagroup/Amazon UK really dropped the ball with this purchase in terms of their shipping protection. There was NONE!!! The shrink wrapped BD was placed into a box much too large for the BD with NO secure protection. Absolutely NO damage protection. And for an international shipment too.

Fortunately there was no damage to the steelbook. Plus it arrived one week late. I left completely negative feedback on the packaging & the seller's performance. I hope this is not a portent of things to come with Amazon UK and the secondary sellers.

Random and varied packaging. That's all.

I've bought a couple SteelBooks from Amazon.it and their packaging was even better than Amazon UK. They double-boxed my orders. Basically used the same type of box Amazon UK uses and then put that in another box. They do charge quite a bit more for packaging though.

And that total lack of protection for a BD steelbook is acceptable to you, especially if one were shipped to you that way?

No, but that's the risk you take when you purchase from a 3rd party seller. Especially if you are really into SteelBook collecting and they are not. Because to them, it's nothing more special than a regular movie they might have for sell. They don't understand that a dent or scratch affects the "value" of it that much.

I would email or message them if you do purchase anymore from 3rd parties before purchasing and see what kind of shipping protection they offer.
