The camera movement and angles had you ducking and contorting your head to see what was around the corner or trying to see that extra little bit that was hidden. It made the viewer pay attention.

I heard it was a great monster movie, but that shake is a big deal to me. It seems to be the latest 'thing to do' in both TV and cinema, and it's overdone and annoying. I don't want to contort my head to watch anything, I just want to sit and enjoy it.

I will probably give it a rent though, because I do love the 'monster takes over city' genre. Hearing the filming style when it was first released REALLY was a huge dissapointment, as I'm a guy still keeping his fiingers crossed for a Godzilla sequel.
