So, I'm prompted to ask the obvious, for anyone who has seen it, what can you compare it to? Would it make a good blind buy? Is it bad bad, or good bad, or just an underrated good sci-fi film?

How can it put this….I would say that the movie is one hot mess. You can definitely tell that at one point there was a good movie but it got lost in all the drama. I think it's okay, nothing special. An uneven but fairly enjoyable sci fi horror film. I think it definitely falls into the category of so bad its good movies. Hope that helps…

Good or bad, isn't the issue. It's that the current fans are so appreciative of all the effort "Shout!/Scream Factory" is putting into these films they really don't want to let go of them, especially as time goes on and the earlier the release the harder and more rare it is to find the slip-cover to go with the film. And we all know if the studios who leased these films out put them out on blu-ray, there would be no way they would be getting the treatment that they've been receiving. There would be no "Horror's Hallowed Grounds" that's for sure.

And I think that the fact that you do have to pay a bit more money for brand new "Shout!/Scream Factory" releases kind of makes the fans who decide to buy them ask themselves if they truly want it and they will be less inclined to let it go, because they truly want to keep the films they buy from them?

I really don't know, this is all educated guessing obviously. I own plenty of their titles and they are very quality releases and I have no desires to sell them off or make trades. But, I am dying for a "Terror Train" slip-cover.

The Ninth Configuration North America Wishlist Thread. Someone in there contacted Warner Archives asking about it. They said they lost it.

I sent them an e-mail about a week or two ago, haven't heard or received anything. It's not gonna kill me or make me not want my "Terror Train" disc, but I shouldn't have waited so long to get it. It was the only collector's edition I passed over because the special features didn't really stack up for me and feel like a collector's edition, especially when the "TerrorVision"/"The Video Dead" release blew it out of the water and that was just suppose to be a double-feature, not something labeled a collector's edition.

I would have to agree with that, I actually saw this in the theater when it was released and thought it was terrible, years later I watched it again, and thought it's not that bad, I think it grows on you with repeated viewings, I've owned it on Laserdisc & DVD and look forward to upgrading to Blu-ray

I doubt it would be the third mysterious title. Despite its connection to The Exorcist, The Ninth Configuration is not a horror movie.

Whoever ends up releasing it, all I ask is that they give the film the special edition treatment it deserves.

Neither are Darkman or Precinct 13 but the elements are there.

I was looking over my Amazon horror wish list, and I still have so many Scream titles to get. I had hoped to get a few during the Halloween season, but between having to purchase books/supplies this semester (as if the $25,000 I pay a semester wasn't enough, I have to pay over $1000 in class materials) and other unexpected financial hiccups, the $15 price wasn't enough to hook me. While priorities in titles certainly differ, I still intend to eventually get:

-Prison
-From Beyond
-The Town That Dreaded Sundown
-The Vampire Lovers
-The Burning

They mentioned on Facebook a week or so ago that slipcovers aren't guaranteed anymore, even when ordered directly through their store.

I believe they said if the release is more than 2 or 3 months back they cannot guarantee it because of returns etc having missing slips and going back into inventory. However i know first hand that in some cases they will send a missing slip if you order one that comes without and you email and they have some in stock.

Got my copy of Prince of Darkness here in Denmark today from Amazon - it came with a slipcover.. Will be hosting a small halloween gathering on the 31st (halloween is not really a thing here) and I think I'll be showing this Have never seen it but seems like halloween material
