I was listening to the audio commentary on Arrow's Motel Hell with Callum Waddell and director Kevin Connor and they were talking about the studio which originally released Heavens Gate and Waddell ended up mentioning that Criterion released a blu-ray of it and now there are people who actually think its a masterpiece and they both chuckled. Good listen.

I'd recommend the bolded ones. The underlined ones as well, but those two are part of the John Cassavetes 5 Film set, which is a must own in my opinion.

It's always hard to recommend titles for people you don't know, but the bolded ones are what I'd be most interested in having in my collection (if, in most of the cases, I didn't have them already)

how does B&N handle damaged items that are international shipped? would consider paying more @ amazon. since there is probably the risk of receiving a damaged box.. (its easy to replace a clear case so i dont care .. but the zatochi box...)

You have to send them back. Plus with B&N there's a chance they'll send it in an over sized box so it rattles around. I'd buy it through Amazon.

Nov/Dec last year Amazon priced match Best Buy with their 50% sale. So you might want to wait and see if there's another this year.

I second Brandon's endorsement of Carlos. I only wish that you could put on subtitles for the entire film, which (and I am not 100% sure) I don't think you can. The problem I had when I saw it was that English is spoken with about 50 different accents and it is sometimes hard to follow. Very entertaining film, though. You'd be surprised how you are held captive for it's 5 1/2 hour run time.

I know...I am tempted to grab Brute Force and Magnificent Obsession but I know if I do then they will get upgraded to blu. Which wouldn't really matter because I could sell off the DVD's, but then again I may as well just focus on the blu's

ok , looks like i will stay with my amazon preorder. the risk of waiting 4-6 weeks , paying tax , sending back wait another 4 weeks till it has arrived with them only to wait 4-6 weeks again for the replacement and taking the risk of paying tax twice...


amazon may be more expensiv but they are defintly the most customer friendly place for international bluray orders...

1. Amazon.com was selling Criterion Blu-rays all through December last year. I bought several single-disc Criterion Blu-rays for $17.99 during that time.

2. Barnes & Noble had a 40% off all Blu-rays sale all through December last year.

One way or another, all of you in this thread should be able to get everything you want.
