Default Devil May Cry HD collection rated by ESRB

Hell yeah

Quote:
The Devil May Cry HD Collection has been rumored since this past June when a Spanish retailer posted an ad. Since then no new details have been released, until today. Capcom hasn't confirmed anything but the ESRB has publicly re-categorized Devil May Cry, Devil May Cry 2 and Devil May Cry 3: Dante's Awakening. "Change Value of Platforms from "PlayStation 2" to "PlayStation 2, PlayStation 3, Xbox 360." Meaning, these games are no longer just for the PS2.

When the rumor of a Devil May Cry HD Collection first started it was widely believed it would be a PS3 exclusive. If these changes prove to be true, it will be released on both the PS3 and Xbox 360.

I'd love to have just the first one remastered. I'm guessing that these we be lazy ports like the MGS games and just uprezzed/improved framerate instead of all new textures to make them look like they belong this generation.

None of these HD Collections are remakes, they're just somewhat remastered versions. If they were remakes, or at least spent a long time them they'd be closer to this gen's graphics, that's not to pre-judge the set, but we're just gonna get standard HD collection most likely.

This I will definitely get. I wish they'd add a trophy pack to DMC4, too.

Very cool news. I finally got around to playing the DMC games when I bought the PS2 trilogy last year. I just wish they'd crap the stupid plans to re-boot this franchise.

If they're as poorly remastered as RECVX and RE4 I'll be passing. Hopefully Capcom's got a different team on the job.

I have never been a huge fan of DMC. I like it but my PS2 Collection of the games will suffice enough for this. These HD remasters are only really moneygrabs for people who already own the games. On the other hand If I don't own the games I would prob grab them. No reason for me to buy this one, Ico and Shadow of the Collosus on the other had will be worth it for me as I don't own them.

This. I wasn't too interested in them on the PS2 (even though I had bought them) so I can easily pass on these if not done properly.
And no plats (like RE4 & CVX) = no buy for me too.

I read that the latest DMC will be next week's Halloween special at $13.99 for PS+ members. I'll definitely pick it up if that's the case.

The HD collection is like $10 on PSN for plus members. You really can't go wrong for 3 full games at that price.

I was only able to finish 1 of the 3 remasters and it wasn't bad. I remember there being some funky camera angles, so sometimes I didn't notice a straggling enemy or misjudge a jump, but I guess that comes with the territory of having a fixed camera. The other odd thing is that the menus appear in standard definition (not sure why that is) and the cut scenes are also in SD, but that's probably due to the fact they were rendered in that format. If you've played the originals and want to revisit the series, definitely pick it up. If not, it might look and feel dated.

In regards to DMC, I wasn't looking forward to the reboot and didn't have much faith in Ninja Theory, but they certainly surprised me. They added their own unique take on the franchise with interesting character designs, detailed models, an array of fun weapons and a combat system that allowed you to seamlessly alternate in between them during combos. If you have the chance to play this on PC, opt for that since it can run at 60fps (console version also isn't too shabby ).

Don't own the game so can't really say for certain, but I did not like what I saw from the demo at all.

I knew someone who owned the game and enjoyed it as far as the gameplay went, but he didn't like that they had started the story over, since they had already established it in the other games.

Well DMC is a reboot made by the same company who Developed Heavenly Sword and Enslaved since a lot of games from Capcom lately have been Western-developed. I bought Heavenly Sword and didn't care for it and had no interest in trying out Enslaved.

I thought DMC was great. I really enjoyed that game, too bad Ninja Theory isn't making a sequel to it. I don't think it sold too well, however the reviews were good too. I think most people wrote it off because they changed Dante.

Really? I didn't know that. I thought with it being Devil May Cry that it had done quite well.

Yeah, I knew that it was a reboot but still he wasn't thrilled that they were doing this. Of course, it doesn't surprise me that they did this because it seems like that is happening not only in the film industry but also with game studios in order for them to continue to profit on the title.

Capcom wanted to sell 2 Million+ copies worldwide by the end of the financial year. Then they changed their goal to selling 1.2 Million copies. But it just couldn't quite make it. Like if it had just a little extra push, it would have been able to reach the 1.2 Million. So for me who usually buys games that don't sell anywhere near that much worldwide, I think being able to sell 1 million copies is not bad at all. But Capcom wanted it to sell more because of like you said because of the name alone. Recent Resident Evil games and other Capcom titles have also sold 1 million copies, but still not enough to satisfy Capcom.

This is sort of like how it was with Bayonetta. It technically sold very well, but not well enough. Of course many people were disappointed with the PS3 version to where it had to be patched, but still needed more work. But because Bayonetta didn't sell as many copies as Platinum Games wanted it to, they make the sequel into a Wii U exclusive hoping it would sell better on it than on PS3 and Xbox 360.
