While the 1st "Sleepaway Camp" is not my favourite of the series i certainly enjoy it enough that i'll pick this one up. About the NOTD and Witchboard release dates is it feb or april? i always get mixed up with the u.s way of writing dates, i think you lot do it differently from us.

Good day for blu ray horror anouncements so far 1st with "Dolls" and "Lord of Illusions" and now this.

I am well aware. It doesn't stop them dealing with both parties though (I'm excluding Return), as Anchor Bay obviously did. I can't help feeling that if Scream didn't go after 2 and 3, that it would reduce the likelyhood of them getting BD releases. I can't see many companies going out of their way for 2 and 3 with the original already being licensed elsewhere. I'm certainly not saying there are some small outfits that wouldn't like to, though, whether it ends up happening or not is another thing.

Please don't pass conjecture off so matter of factly. You don't know the situation, I don't know the situation. Just because they're with two different companies doesn't mean that 2 and 3 aren't available to them. If the situation in the US is as similar as in the UK, Scream's relationship with the company that manages distribution on Double Helix's behalf (which is MGM believe it or not) would make it a distinct possibility (that's if HD transfers were available).

I have a feeling maybe they don't personally like Sleepaway Camp 2 and 3? It stopped them from releasing Psycho IV on Blu-ray.

I could be wrong, but I thought it was because of it being a tv-movie?

Cliff and the boys stated that it was not that they dislike Psycho IV and meant no disrespect to the people who were involved in the making of the movie but they felt that there were better movies to go after. They did state though that if the first two sequels sold well that they would reconsider.

It's on the UK and Ireland forum. They were announced today by 101films along with dvd only "Celler Dweller" "Pumpkinhead 2 and "Phantom of the Opera" 89.

I am pretty sure someone said it over on their facebook page. All I know now is Psycho IV is not happening in the near future.

I thought that too, maybe the guy posting on the facebook page about it got his wires crossed. Anyway TV movie or not it's worth releasing!

Nice. I managed to wake up this morning and snag one of the Halloween vinyls that Mondo is releasing (I missed out on the posters, but I'll take what I can get), and then I learn Scream is releasing Sleepaway Camp.

This is already shaping up to be a nice Halloween...

Grabbed a vinyl and the poster of him carrying Annie, always been my favorite shot in the film. Btw your name on here is how mine is pronounced phonetically

Sleepaway Camp is a good pick for Scream Factory but I hope we have not entered an age where it's considered "the big one" hinted about. It's lurid and enjoyable but I've never seen it as a top tier slasher, maybe that's just personal preference. Too bad there won't be another Sleepaway Camp box set, selling all the movies together makes more sense to me with a film like this, hopefully those won't be abandoned.

Lord of Illusions is a great movie, that's exciting news. Hopefully 101 Films isn't region lock happy or obligated. Dolls is a gem too.

Edit: typos

It is always personal preference but I definitely consider Sleepaway Camp to be a top tier slasher and think it definitely should be deemed a big title announcement. We kind of are at the point where most of the real top tier horror(that the masses would consider top tier anyway) has already been released. Outside of a few big titles still not to hit blu most are stuff that some are going to find huge announcements while others are not.
