I have a stupid question then. I have one of the rec on that list, the Onkyo SR604 connected to my PS3 via HDMI. However when playing DVD movies on my PS3 (Non-bluray), the sound just isnt that great. When I switch the PS3 settings to Audio via Optical the sound is amazing.
I also have a DVD Player with HDMI, so just for kicks I tried the same movie to see the difference in sound. The DVD Player when connected via HDMI or Optical for Sound, was exactly the same. The REc registered both as DD 5.1. When on the PS3 the Rec registered the Optical as DD 5.1 and HDMI as PCM. But what am I missing? I left the volume at the same level for all the above tests. So I'm a bit confused? I am in no ways a pro, and would appreciate any advice/help. thanks. forgot to mention, on the PS3 I have the Audio only checked for all 5.1 sound. I have none of the 7.1 selected. I have the Audio for PCM selected on my PS3 Setup. Last edited by Smooth2DJ; 04-29-2007 at 06:31 PM. Reason: Added PS3 Audio Setup Info |
