It's only just come out in UK cinemas this weekend and it's out in a matter of months, renegade Disney at it again

It's out in 4 months - the norm for all major films nowadays. The only thing "renegade" about it is how early the pre-order has gone live.

Just come back from seeing it (in 2D), I didn't think it was anything too special but still pretty enjoyable.

Does anyone know if the UK disc has the same audio specs as the US version (Dolby TrueHD from what I can tell) as the US version is causing all sorts of problems apparently - skipping, dropouts, sync problems etc., Just like last years 'Brave' and 'Finding Nemo' did for a lot of US buyers.

Well the UK releases of Brave and Finding Nemo also had TrueHD tracks so seems very likely Monsters University will too but the audio problem if present when viewed on your equipment can be fixed by switching the player to output PCM instead.

I remember that being the advice last year but with 'Brave' (US edition) I had to use co-ax out (only 5.1) otherwise I got dropouts with PCM via HDMI. 'Finding Nemo' was ok. Also believe the Colin Farrel version of 'Total Recall' exhibited the same problems.

The US edition has a bonus disc with loads of features, are we getting barebones crap again? or just for the 3D only?
not seen this, but do like Pixar movies and loved Monsters Inc!

just ordered the Sainsbury Exclusive.
It seems the UK normal editions don't have any bonus features, whilst the Sainsbury one comes with a bonus disc full of them

looking forward

The basic US 2D release was $19.99 on Amazon. I fired it in with some other bits and pieces. Figured that Disney UK would pull this again.

To hell with it! Going to order the US standard edition and cancel Sainsbury one. At least I'll get a nice slip with the US version (or so it seems) and a nicer cover, for almost the same price. And be guaranteed to get all the bonus features.
