PS3 SD DVD scaler adds bad edge enhancement

First question

Photo equipment:

Same exact setting is used for all photo still shots, only differences was toggling of PS3 scaler option from "OFF" to "Normal"

So if everything is the same, how come when you switch from off (480) to normal (720), the image remains the same size? So the PS3 is outputing 480 and your TV is scaling that to 720, and then you have the PS3 scaling 480 into 720 and the TV should not be scaling that. Maybe the 720 output is passing through the TV's scaling circuit, so it's processed twice?

Anyway, the time I did a quick check on the AVIA DVD pattern, it seemed fine. If I have the time I'll check closer.
