I have never thought about if it should be Plasma or LCD.

Until a few weeks ago (before I started to read the posts in this forum on a regular basis) I was set for the Sharp Aquos 52" and a "normal" blue-ray player (Sony or Sharp).

Then I started to understand that obviously the PS3 is one of the best blue ray players, and now I want to get the PS3 for playing the blue-rays.

The same happened with the choice of the TV. I read many good things about the Sony XBR4/5 and I started to take a closer look at Best Buy etc.

Indeed it has an awesome picture, and I have always noticed that (when I looked at the Sharp pq and Sony pq at Costco for example).
However, initially I didn't plan to spend more than $2,500 for a 52", but eventually I switched idea and decided to spend up to $3,000 (ok or maybe $100-200 more as an absolute limit).

I mean there are several TVs I like... Today I saw a 56" (I think it was 56) and even 60" from Samsung and the pq looked also awesome. Just a little bit over my budget lol.

So I guess I will go for the XBR, because first of all the pq looks awesome (for me as a non-expert), and the TV itself looks also great. I know it may sound stupid for you guys, but for me it plays also a role how the TV itself looks in the living room (of course I wouldn't buy a TV just because of it looks... but the combination of both would be nice).

If you can stretch your budget a little bit more, consider the Pioneer 5010FD.
