UCLA Freshman LB Miles Jack just ran for a 66-yard TD.

UCLA is out of running backs so they have gone to their Freshman LB lol He's leading the game right now in tackles and running yards

Wow, I had no idea Mercer was 9-1. Stetson's comeback season isn't quite as successful at 2-7.

Yup. Only loss was the first road game of the season, all the way out in San Diego. SD also has wins over the other 2 1-loss teams in the conference. Mercer still plays one of those though, so we'll likely get another loss.

Next year will probably go poorer when we move to the Southern Conference. App St and Georgia Southern will be gone, but it's still a move to scholarship football. I imagine we'll also have less D3 and NAIA teams (we played 2 of each this year, I believe) next year.

2016 is likely our first decent test... we open the season at Georgia Tech.

Good news might be we'll have basically the entire team for several years....

Mercer has six sophomores, 66 redshirt freshmen and 34 freshmen.
Also, I might be going to the homecoming game against Stetson, if I can find tickets.

I'm not sure about his NFL prospects. He's a toss up for me.

If UCF lost a game and Cincinnati won out (unlikely with games against Rutgers, Houston and Louisville remaining) then UCF and Cincy would tie for the title. Since they didn't play each other the tiebreaker would be whichever team is ranked higher in the BCS rankings. Right now UCF is so far ahead of Cincy in the BCS rankings that it's unlikely Cincy could overtake them even if they won out and UCF lost a game, so UCF in essence has a 2-game lead in the AAC.

Looking at the new rankings it seems obvious that Baylor will jump Ohio St. if they run the table. Baylor jumped to a very close #4 and have some more quality games left. I'm guessing the BCS rankings today will be.

1. Alabama
2. FSU
3. Baylor
4. Ohio St.
5. Stanford - And Stanford might not be very far behind OSU for the 4 spot.

UCF is up to #15 in the AP poll.

Alabama is in a rough spot right now... if they lose to Auburn, they're out of the championship. If they'd lost earlier and beat Auburn, they might have been able to recover.

Well the AP poll is done by people who actually watch the games. USA Today is the Coaches. And yet the Coaches poll is what counts in the BCS

Wow, didn't expect Stanford to be #4 in the BCS, but they are. Stanford is very close to OSU for the 3 spot despite having a loss.

1. Alabama .9958
2. FSU .9619
3. Ohio St. .8926
4. Stanford .8689
5. Baylor .8618

UCF is #17 in the BCS.

How Baylor is not ranked above OSU is criminal at best.

The nerds open as a 10 point dog on Thursday night. With 1st place in the coastal on the line this should be another good game between these 2 teams.

So if one of the top teams lose, Stanford could sneak there way in the title game past Ohio St?

Even though my Tigers were pounded by FSU it shocks me that loss is worse than a loss to a crap team like Utah or Tennessee.

I'm not convinced that will happen. The computers are killing Baylor right now, which will improve as they have some difficult games left. I think their remaining SOS will push them past Stanford in the BCS if they win out. Whether or not Baylor can push past Ohio St. in the BCS is hard to say. It will likely be close for the #2 spot of Bama or FSU gets upset and drops a game.

Even if we had a 4 team playoff this season there would likely be controversy. That's why my preference was always an 8 team playoff.

Strength of schedule. The computers love Stanford. Here's the SOS for each team so far. Stanford's schedule is far and away the toughest of the bunch thus far. Baylor's will improve as their schedule is backloaded.

Alabama - 30th
FSU - 49th
Ohio St. - 66th
Stanford - 7th
Baylor - 73rd

I'm with you on that. I hope that change comes soon.

I'm with you. I don't get how they are that high. CBS bowl predictions have Oregon and Clemson in the Orange Bowl. That would be a fun game. I'd rather see them instead of Baylor.
