Could be. Disney isnt good at making the first trailers. The 2nd trailer is usually better ive noticed with Disney trailers.

OTOH, at least they've found a new cookie cutter, and are now trying to turn all their "Dark fairytale" movies into Once Upon a Time, rather than Tim Burton. (Or spinoff hybrids thereof.)

Yes, Those thorn bushes at the end of the trailer were in fact added in with cgi. The cgi of the thorn bushes looks fine .

Or in the case of John Carter and The Lone Ranger, all the trailers were terrible where the actual films turned out just fine.

I quite liked it.

Though I'm not sure if I love or hate the copied voice. Not sure if its flattery or plagiarism in coping here. hmmm

Based on that trailer, I'm not very excited for it. Maybe the second trailer will be better.

Not digging it at all, I'm even struggling to see this be a big hit. Looks too scary and intense for young kids but a bit too disinteresting for older kids/young teens. Plus most the male demographic seem a bit tossed aside for this one as well

I would have thought the same about Burton's incredibly awful Alice in Wonderland, but for reasons which still baffle me to this day, that made tons of cash

Got some serious Oz + Alice in Wonderland vibes when the CGI came up on-screen. Then I googled the director...

I don't expect much at all.

However, I don't expect zombie cult hordes of HS/college Stromberg fanboys to descend on the theaters during March spring break week, followed by waves of sighing fangirls gushing over Angelina Jolie, who want to wear their own pair of horns at Disneyland...

(Er, well, on second thought, I'll give you that last one, but for the sake of metaphor, there was a REASON Disney never bothered to actually show Alice in the "Alice" posters. They knew on which side their tea-bread was buttered.)

So this is basically Wicked but about "Sleeping Beauty" instead of "The Wizard of Oz"?

And, although I'm a fan of Elle Fanning, the accent she chose and her delivery sounded very forced.

The low-rent CGI is also an eyesore. I'm not convinced thus far.

No matter what you're talking about, there will always be detractors. It was overly long and had its fair share of problems, but I thought it was a really well-made western adventure. I get that a lot of people don't like it, but I, and quite a few others, did. No one is really claiming it was the best film ever made.

Oh well, back on topic!

The good:

Angelina Jolie's look and line delivery.

The Bad:

Jarring CGI backgrounds. Why couldn't they make it like Legend and use real sets?

Elle Fanning's look, acting, and voiceover

I agree. I think it looks exciting and great and I can't wait to see it either. But I wasn't complaining about it though, I really like from what I've seen from the teaser trailer .

I didn't recognize her at first, since she's borrowing Lilly Collin's eyebrows.

I had doubts about this project and now I'm actually losing my interest. It looks like it's made with the exact same machine "Oz" and "Alice" was created with. Yep, I'm calling it 'machine'. And Angelina ... Meh.
