$24 for 9 movies? Suddenly, I'm a bigger fan of Mel Brooks than I realized! Ordered last night, should arrive tomorrow.

I bought this set awhile ago and have watched a few of the movies to date. Tonight I put in Young Frankenstein for the family and it started freezing up on me around the one hour 15 minute spot. I had to fast forward almost ten minutes before it would play again. Anyone else ever experience this and any advice on what I can do. I purchased this set so long ago and I don't know if I can get a replacement disc or not. I really don't want to buy and individual disc to put in the set. Any suggestions? thanks

buc18, it might depend on where you bought it from. If it was somewhere like Amazon, then I'd at least contact them and see what options they might extend to you. You could be pleasantly surprised.

This site says Best Buy has the set for $39.99, which isn't true, it's $60.

I wish it were that easy. It didn't come from Amazon. I already checked. I am fairly sure I purchased from B & N but I can't check orders placed over 18 months and it was longer than that.

Ahh, sorry mate.

I have a spare copy of the disc, since it was the only title in the set that is region-locked, and I replaced it with my local copy of the disc that I'd bought before the set came down in price (and also moved into a shelf-friendly format). But I live in Australia.

What a bummer. Especially since it's (arguably) the best film in the set.

Yeah, the set is also missing Dracula, Dead and Loving it! and (of course) The Producers.

Of course people know they're missing. Nobody's "like dumb". Maybe it was a rights issue, or a budget issue, or maybe the people putting together the set simply didn't think "Life" and "Dracula" were worth the cost of including them. Who knows?

It's a pity it's not a complete set, for sure. I too would have liked those other films to be included. Personally, though, I'm just grateful they included "The Twelve Chairs".

I'm just bummed out because I don't want to.purchase this collection and then a real whole complete collection comes out. And it's also one of my favorite movies of all time, I've worked so near to skid row that it's like personal to me in a way. Plus "Life Stinks" isn't on blu ray yet or ever which.makes me blow up even more. Thanks MacEachaid for the explanation, I didn't even.know those other titles were missing too. Who do I protest too, which movie company do nag at lol.

Doubtful indeed, they recently changed it from the HUGE coffee table book to the current set, although I am glad they added Spaceballs to the set, the DVD collection did not have that title. At some point I hope they release Life Stinks and Dracula: Dead and Loving It, even though the latter movie I thought was the weakest of his movies, despite an all star cast.

no, because when it was very high priced I got all the films from the set I wanted as stand alone releases, except Silent Movie, which I bought from an Ebay seller for about six bucks.

I just ordered this movie set at $23, but I'm wondering something. On Amazon it's listed as 1.33:1, is this true?

Also, does Space Balls have all the same bonus content that the 25th Anniversary edition has (since I own that, before I get rid of it).

I have 3 movies from this collection already on Blu-ray, they are:

Robin Hood: Men in Tights
Space Balls 25th Anniversary Edition
Young Frankenstein

I'm planning on giving them away to various friends and family members. But before I do, will I be giving away any bonus content I'll miss from this set? Estimated arrival is the 20th to the 23rd. (Too bad it's not the 19th, my birthday

All of the films are in OAR. The Spaceballs disc is identical to an older disc that's been out since 2009 or so, but there was a rerelease either this year or late last year and it will not be that newer disc.

It was a no brainer for me. First, I already had an $8 credit plus had never updated the 5 Brooks films from dvd in the set I own (Blazing Saddles, Young Frankenstein, Robin Hood, Spaceballs & History of the World). The others are all worth owning too & even though I ordered it late last night it is already out for delivery using 2 day Prime.
