The only one of these I've yet seen is Spirited Away, thanks to the fantastic Special DVD release we got here a few years back (before I'd discovered the dangerous combination of a debit card plus the Internet! )

I wonder why that still hasn't made it to Blu? I would have thought that was a natural, especially since it already has what I understood was a 1080p digital transfer, a whole slew of extras and an English language dub (though I preferred watching it with the Japanese audio, myself).

It's their most well known film so they're saving it for one of their last releases and is expected for a release next year. Another well loved film Princess Mononoke gets it's Japanese release in Dec so should make its way here next year as well

Japan has to release the title first, and at present Studio Ghibli are releasing their titles in Japan at a rate of 2 every 6 months and in the order of release... so Spirited Away is next after The Cat Returns and Princess Mononoke, both of which get released in Japan next month

Do people think there is any chance that once the new movie, Hayao's last one comes out that they may release a boxset of all the movies together?
I don't have any on blu ray as yet, so a box set could suit me
I have wanted to buy them for awhile but they are so expensive.

All I want is Princess Mononoke and Spirited Away but of course it seems they will be the last to come out.

If you keep an eye out on JB, they mark them down sometimes without openly advertising it. When 'Up on Poppy Hill' came out, a couple of the titles got marked down to $20, which is when I grabbed a lot of the 'on the fence' titles like Ponyo and Tales from Earthsea.

They did a boxset of the DVDs years back when the studio picked up momentum with the popularity of Princess Mononoke & Spirited Away (it's not local though), so that's possible too. But I kind of doubt it'll happen locally, as we never got one did we?

Came with a nice box and a cert with authentication number, plus gorgeous postcards from all the films at the time.

Madman have only said next year some time... they have already announced their January and February titles so unless they add it last minute it won't be until after then...

What's the average price for these films? I thought all these Studio Ghibli titles were all from the year 2000+, but I see some are actually from the 80s and 90s (the golden days).

Might be interested in getting those ones.

Being Madman, they are all around the $30 mark, they do sometimes go on special for about $24, but there is always the 20% off sales at JB

Mostly $38 at JB, unless there's a 20% off. But they occasionally they do a sale and drop some titles to $20 or $25.
