No, because Fox owns the show and WB owns Batman and have steadfastly refused to cut a deal acceptible to both parties. Unless that changes, Batman will never come out

Does the ownership apply to Europe, Asia or other countries? If not, perhaps Batman could be released by a foreign licensee. Fingers crossed.

It's amazing that a company like RED who have so far failed to live up to their early promise keep getting a pass from high tech community, I just don't get it. If a company like Sony or Panavision had overpromised and under delivered in the same manner the high tech communitly would be screaming for their heads. Makes absolutely no sense to me...
Dont get mad at me.

Fox owns it wholesale. And those foreign licensees would still have to pay WB the king's ransom that Fox refuses to pay

Ain't Fox releasing the original Batman Movie though? Wouldn't they have cut a deal with WB for releasing that?

Bill,

why is "Desperate Housewives, Season 4" coming only on DVD, not on Blu-ray? Is there a chance we'll see a HD release of that season later this year?

I'm guessing around the time Batman and Robin had been released.

No, they're only upping the ante with Grey's Anatomy this year, which is their #1 selling TV DVD I believe. DH will probably be next year, and will pick up with the current season

Blu-ray TV sets are very expensive to do, and use up a lot of resources, so it'll be slow going for the next few years

I guess I better finish buying Entourage on dvd. I skipped Season 3 in hopes of a future BD release, but sounds like that won't be here anytime soon.

I am thrilled about Grey's coming to BD. I have seasons 1-3 on oldray DVD. I will definitely purchase season 4 on BD.

Hey, on the positive, sometime in 2066-2067 it'll be public domain right?

Not so much. Even for those of y'all that this timeline might help... there is a lot of murkiness when it comes to characters that appear in an ongoing format (Mickey Mouse for example).

Comparision…………

http://ftp.datausa.com/imageshoppe/o...reen_5200k.mov

Moving picture test for home theater enthusiasts…………..
Download the above clip (be patient , as it may take a minute or two) and examine both images.

One side was shot with the Red One (captured at 4K) and the other side of the picture was shot with a “lowly” 1080p camera (that costs about ¼ that of the Red One when you factor in accessories) and over which there has been essentially no comparable internet hype about.

The Red One footage was handled as 4K until the very end when it was scaled down to 1080. So essentially, both captures are *finished* and thus delivered in 1080p – which is what you guys see on your TV sets or front projectors at home.

Which side do you find more pleasurable for viewing… or in other words is “better” ?
Left or right ?

This link is provided for home theater enthusiasts in mind…….not working professional cinematographers.
B.T.W., perhaps if anyone is interested I will tell you all who my all-time favorite D.P. is……..somebody that perhaps very few of you have even heard of.

The one on the right appears slightly less sharp and exhibits a bit more motion blur(though that could be the angle) and slight red push.

The left by a hair or so

That's what I see!

Looking at the title of the file:

EX1_VRS_RED_bluescreen_5200k

Is the EX1 a camera, and if so, is it on the left and the RED on the right like the file suggests?
