What's with the 'quotes' on the UK edition .... 'Woody Allen meets Girls'.... hell this film is far far from a Woody film. Manhattan - classic / Annie Hall - classic... Francis Ha..... crap. At least Woody has a script often that takes you somewhere - unlike the episodic scenes in here (wow... she's at another apartment now); great music and actors that are lining up to work for him. Frances Ha has no one that you can name. As for 'Comedy of the Year' - who paid for this line ? There are no laughs in this film - unless you think a woman falling down after running is funny. He's Frances dancing..... here is her bedroom.... here is her knocking back a job... here is her travelling to Paris on a credit card ... OMG... this is 'so funny'.

Frances Ha is definitely NOT a comedy - it's a terrible drama of a stupid 27 yr old whom has no idea, and makes rash decisions. Oh... she's 'undateable' - HILARIOUS .. NOT. I gave up around the 60min mark - I would have slapped Frances if I ever met her. Suddenly a B&W low budget film becomes the 'darling' of a few and they then state that's their best film of the year.... obviously they don't get out much.

Rent it first - and see if you can endure this terrible character. Or better - grab GREENBERG and see if you can survive thru that first.

i got through Greenberg a lot easier than I did reading this post so I might give Frances Ha a try. Or should I say... try.... ???...
