No disrespect but that's not exactly ridiculous. $2 per item to ship something around the world is pretty damn cheap when it costs that much to send a large letter via Australia Post to the next suburb.

Speaking of shipping, just got my dispatch notice on a few titles from my first Black Friday order. Epic, The Little Mermaid, Mental, Hollow Man double pack, Hostage and True Romance are on their way.

Had a kid free morning so I took the opportunity to do a re-watch of Grindhouse. Love it! Don't care what anyone says, I enjoy both films. I still enjoy Planet Terror more - it's definitely got the best lines. Great disc too (obviously within reason given the deliberate picture choices) and the sound in Death Proof is great.

Snap! I watched it last night as well, only the:

version. Oh, and you left out that it also had Spender's mum (sister of Penny Robinson from the Jupiter II). But not the Babe from Indy — they're very alike, but this was Abby, who married the rancher for money in Days of Heaven.

Anyway. Great version of the story, very nicely done on Blu.

Well, I've officially become part of the BF Feeding Frenzy.

Bought my first "lightning deal" in the middle of last night:

for £28, all five series. Never seen the show, have wanted to for quite a while. Must be popular — the deal was sold out in about three minutes. (Though I guess that could mean they didn't have many units to start with, couldn't it?)

I went to buy True Blood Season 5 from Amazon as price has dropped to US $25.99. Amazon then wants to charge me US $39.94 for shipping . What the hell is going on here. No option for Standard International Shipping.

Definitely not purchasing now.

I was in two minds about this one. I had it in my cart, went through the check out and then about an hour later I started to get 'buyers remorse', I let it go and cancelled the order. I have seen Fringe, but I guess I was thinking would I ever re-watch it any time soon and if I did want to could I just use Netflix... Great show and if you like the X-Files you should enjoy it.

Great pick up!

Actually yeah, you're right. Comparing it to sending a large parcel within Australia for about $6.95 it's a good price. Maybe I just complain too much :P

Anyway, watched...

Fantastic! Really enjoyed this. AQ and PQ were top notch. Just a generally enjoyable movie that could've dragged on but didn't.

Mine went almost instantly into "Preparing for shipping", which I guess is to stop people from changing their minds.

Anyway, yeah, expensive fling, 'coz I'll probably only ever watch it once or so. But it's done now.

Congrats! I've been hovering around the 300 mark for a long time now. I've always tried not to go too much past it and vow I never will even if it means I have to do a bit of a clean out every month or so. Black Friday makes it quite hard though :P

I notice Amazon US is saying on my order that was placed (and despatched) yesterday that it definitely won't arrive before Christmas. (i.e. that it will definitely take more than four weeks to deliver.) They're not even trying to pretend anymore, are they? :-/

I ended up exchanging the theatrical 3d version of World War Z that I purchased yesterday, for the extended 2d only version. After reading a few reviews on the 3d quality, I decided the 3d disc wasn't needed.

The result got even better last night, when I unsealed The Wolverine 3d JB exclusive. To my surprise it had two 3d discs in it, one loose sitting on top of the other. All the other discs were there as well, nothing is missing in it's place.

Wow that's brilliant!
I saw at JB today that there are two slipcase versions, one with a red metallic embossed title and one with a black printed title, anyone know what the difference is?

I really enjoy this movie, even if it is pretty much the blockbuster version of Moon. The blu itself is beautiful, outstanding video and audio, the best I've seen on my setup so far!

Strangely, if you look at the listing for something in stock it says that to ensure delivery by Christmas eve, choose standard international shipping. Doesn't make sense.

First BF order:

Hoping Person of Interest S2 drops to <$20.

Arrived:

^ Ordered these 2 last Monday and arrived today with Expedited Shipping! This has been the fastest delivery in my experience with Amazon US..

But I ordered another 2 Blu-rays from Amazon UK on the 12th and it was meant to arrive last Thursday? They said if it doesn't come by tomorrow they'll ship another package out but it's weird because nothing from the UK has taken longer then the estimated delivery date.
