Only surprise coming from this announcement is not announcing the movies that were already on blu ray like Shooter would be back in stores. But I guess its just an obvious type thing that they will be sold in stores again?

I am glad they have pulled their chair up to the table. There Will Be Blood, Cloverfield, and Bee Movie are all mine. The only title that I have waited for since all the dumbness started is Transformers. I need this movie.

i feel like this announcement was extremely underwhelming. I won't be picking up any of these movies... seriously paramount. Universal made more of a splash than you!

So all this time waiting, and all this talk about Paramount wanting to make a big splash when they announce, and this is all we get? That is sooooooooooooooooooo pathetic.

If they really wanted to make it up to the BD crowd, they should have started with a big bang... TRANSFORMERS!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Also, where is Sweeney Tod and Sherk? What about their old BD's thay discontinued when they prostituted themselves.

Yes, I'm pissed. They better make up with a BOGO, or I aint buying.

The only reason I say Paramounts announcement was better was just because Universal only really announced the Mummy movies. All the rest are just TBA. Though the only Paramount movie I like is Spiderwick, it is a terrible list.

I agree... horrible lineup! Nobody wanted "There Will Be Blood", "Cloverfield", or "The Spiderwick Chronicles" on Blu-ray... we wanted "Old School", "Anchorman" and "Things We Lost In The Fire"!!

I said last year that I was going to have a US Blu-ray release of "Iron Man" in my hands by this Christmas, but I had multiple people tell me it wouldn't happen. Look at us now!!

Default Paramount's "commitment" to consumers

I love the quote from Kelley Avery, president of Worldwide Home Entertainment that Paramount "continues to focus on the consumer."

Is that why Paramount left Blu-ray fans in the dust to join the HD-DVD camp?

As pleased as I am with Paramount's announcements, so much for their commitments to us!

Thats disappointing. So your thinking it will be released sometime around Iron Man or about 1 year after it was originally released. I would hope that waiting that long it won't be just a port of the HDDVD and will be optimized for BD with lossless.
