Understandable that there will be a delay due to the distraught actors/crew and the fact the film will need major rewrites.

I reckon the film will be out next Christmas, but I don't know if there will be an 8th film, though they did Tokyo Drift without Paul and they did 2 Fast without Vin, so who knows?

Just an idea......

What if they show the film as planned up until Walkers final scene as filmed
Then, stop the film to remember Walker and explain the remainder of the film was changed to reflect Walkers passing.

Its weird I know but I think the audience might appreciate it more in comparison to the usual "dedicated to our friend..." message that usually appears at the end of a film.

A short remembrance mid-movie wouldn't be in bad taste either.

Alternatively, do the remembrance at the beginning of the film and also explain parts of the movie were changed

Fast 7 won't hit until probably April of 2015. The reason is pretty obvious...Universal wants no part of Summer 2015. So they have to pick a spot that'll get them the biggest dollars and March or April of 2015 is the best spot. Or August 2015.

Either way, with this news of a delay, I don't see the film hitting in 2014.

That was before Paul and Vin were the face of the series. Personally I don't see us getting an 8th film. Not sure I even want one without Paul as he's the reason I came back to the series and love it so much. The chemistry and friendship between Brian and Dom.

So they just stop it in the middle of the film and have the cast say there is no ending and everyone can go home

That's dumb. There should just be some rewrites.

I highly doubt they were filming this chronologically. Few films are shot that way

I dont think they should kill him off, i think they should just possibly reshoot it in a manner to see him go off with jordanna brewsters character and his kid.

They could say the new character of Jason Statham is so dangerous that they cant lose more in addition to Han by going after him. It could be Vin Diesel reading a letter from Mia or something about why they took off.

I'm no movie writer, just something a fan of the franchise is thinking about

I can see that happening and I think audiences would understand why Brain wouldn't see Dom in person. It's simple and it can work.

Its all speculation how Fast 7 will be rewritten and handled until the actual filming is complete. Either way it won't be easy for anyone involved to jump back in and move forward, but life moves on and they are all professional people. Ironic that Fast 6 streets next week and of course that movie opens up with a mini-tribute of sorts to both Brian & Dom before the action starts.

They should locate the Dylan McDermott to Paul Walker's Dermot Mulroney and hire that guy for the remainder of the shoot.

I think something like that would be the classiest way to address the real life tragedy while also making sense within the series.

One of the costars just got killed, and you already talking about locating a replacement for his role to finish the movie? How about allowing some time off to grieve and mourn his death for Pete's sakes.

Why not they did it with the Heath Ledger film. I do think people are jumping the gun here. It will be at least 2-3 weeks before we have any announcements for the movie maybe not until after Xmas. People just need to calm down and let it ride. Ride or Die Remember?

Per ScreenCrush (about 2 hours ago) Paul's role was completed except for additional scenes. So, there is no need to kill him off in this sequel.
