Received The Game, The Thin Red Line and La Notte today, from the B&N Sale. Surprisingly, no customs charge to the UK.
Also, saw The Gold Rush this afternoon - the original 1925 edition. Great transfer job by Criterion considering the age of the film and the limited source material for this version. I am not a Chaplin fan and although this film was no exception to his annoying self-indulgent style, it is otherwise very well made with lots of nostalgic moments - the Thanksgiving shoe, the giant chicken, the cabin teetering on the cliff edge etc. |

ahh.. so now I know where iScottie got his avatar pic from!
![]() I saw The Double Life of Veronique last night and liked it very much. It is probably the most 'arty' film of the recent Criterion batch that I have seen. Liked how everything is bathed in green light. Lots and lots of style! I can really dig that. I saw Blue ages ago. I don't remember anything about it aside from the impression I had that it was immensely depressing. Will be hitting those 3 films from Kieslowski soon. I am, after all, a fellow Pol. ![]() |

Unrelated, but I figured that I'll throw this your way, since you're a fellow Kim Novak fan... I finally decided to order Picnic today. I'm not sure how many more copies are in stock, but you might want to take a look. |

I've got a $10 gift certificate from Best Buy that is burning a hole in my pocket. Their online prices are pretty lousy, but they'll price match, so I'll probably be adding another Criterion title to my library... which will make... umm.. let's see. Oh great, I now need two hands to count my Criterions. It'll make 6! woo hoo! hmm.. will make 8 if I get 3 Colors. Can be out the door with it for $32.77 so I'm considering that. |

okay... so my dilemma:
Badlands and Strangers on a Train for $21.96 or Three Colors for 32.77?? I have seen and loved Badlands and will eventually get it. If not today, then soon. Hitchcock is my favorite and I want to upgrade my Strangers on a Train DVD. Three Colors would be a blind buy. I know people here are crazy about it and, as I mentioned, I saw The Double Life of Veronique last night and really liked it. |

I love Three Colors and would normally be inclined to recommend the blind buy here but...ah, hell, but nothing...get Three Colors ![]() |

$21.96 is a terrible price for Strangers on a Train. $13 on Amazon right now.

Man, I just read the Zatoichi review and I am mad at myself for not biting during the sale. Oh well, I've got a bunch of streaming content to get around to anyways. Those 25 films will have to wait... |

I am interested to know what, if any, other collections people buy.
I am fairly new to Criterion (since July 2013) but don't want to be missing out on great films just because Criterion have not released them. I know about MOC & Kino, any others I should be taking a look at? Thanks |

![]() Take a look in this thread (see below). Criterion's Shimizu and Nikkatsu Noir box sets are excellent: https://forum.blu-ray.com/showthread.php?t=201637 Pro-B |
