Even Zatoichi has dropped to £12.99
Not much of a drop but at least they could do what Amazon do and refund me if it drops on release day

Zavvi needs to stop listing all their steelbooks as being the same region. Receiving Evil Dead 2 and Kill Bill 1&2 steels only to realize that they're region-locked is like meeting a supermodel who turns out to be a divorce lawyer.

It is very easy to check on this site before purchasing whether or not discs are region locked. Zavvi always state region B anyway

Most online retail sites do the same. Amazon UK usually lists its stuff only as Region B, and Amazon US and CA as Region A, even when they're region-free. They're just speaking to their primary markets.

Your post makes no kind of sense. Zavvi lists all of them as being Region B, so how are you shocked when they do in fact turn out to be Region B locked?

So it's like meeting a supermodel, who turns out to actually be a...supermodel

I notice that Bruce Willis on the cover of the Die Hard steelbook has the exact same pose as Ron Perlman on the Hellboy steelbook.

That's not that surprising... it's a legal requirement that Bruce Willis appear on 15-40% of all steelbooks manufactured, so a pose is bound to be repeated once in awhile...

So I bought the Call of Duty Modern Warfare metal box with no discs and it came in the mail in a bubble mailer instead of a box! It acquired dents and the case doesn't snap shut. Will I be able to return this without paying for shipping?

What a surprise.
They shipped my Pines steely Friday and still not arrived, if its not here today I will have to go through their ludicrous CS again. This dont bode well for upcoming Conjuring dispatch this week.

Well, if you have opened the shipping package itself, then with Zavvi you will have to pay for return shipping in order to get your refund. However, if the shipping package is still in tact you can simply refuse the parcel and the post office will send it back at no charge to you.

However, given that you stated the product has dents and won't snap shut, I'm guessing that the option I presented is no longer actually an option.

It seems they sent out both Splinter Cell and Call of Duty in bubble mailers. Not that it matters with Zavvi since one of every four I get seem to be dented even though the box it came in is unharmed. My Plant of The Apes arrived with a huge dent in the back, clearly it was shipped that way since the shipping box was in perfect order. If you are going to advertise as a steelbook specialist then you really need to make sure you ship out quality products.
At this point since the typical $2.99 back doesn’t make up for a ruined steelbook and the cost of shipping makes an already high Zavvi price higher I think I’m done with them. I keep getting lured back in like an addiction but after this last batch I’m really done it just costs too much to have them come ruined with no real recourse to have them fixed. I have received too many damaged steels from them now and the customer service is terrible. I know some have had no issue but it’s only a matter of time.

I guess I've been lucky with my orders from Zavvi. Each has arrived without damage despite the LESS than Top of the Line protection for Steelbook shipments. Hope my luck continues.

That's not true at all, if something has arrived damage then you can return it to them regardless of it being open or not, though as it's only a £2 item I doubt you'll have to, they will probably just ask for a picture then replace it.

Everything I said is true. However, knowing now that the item is only £2, it makes sense that IN THIS SCENARIO SPECIFICALLY the person will likely not have to return the item.

I got the two transformers steelbooks in the other day and I was wondering what your guys opinions were on opening them or leaving them sealed. I bought them so I could display them because I already own the movies. I think they would look a lot better on my stand without the plastic and UK stickers on them. I plan to keep it in mint condition and take all precautions I can. Does opening the steelbook affect the value a lot? In other words is there a lot difference in value between like new opened in mint condition and sealed new?

And thanks for the advice on the CoD tin. I will contact customer service.

I may have misinterpreted your original message slightly, I read it as saying they would not pay for the return, which you didn't actually say, it's true you'll have to pay up front to return it but the cost will be reimbursed.

Same. I have two steels in my collection that have dents/scratches, neither of them from Zavvi.

You will never know that those steelbooks actually are mint unless you open them!
