BB exclusive that they get it a week before other stores. Nothing different about the release though.

BB.com says they have a exclusive on it. I ordered it from them Monday, Thursday morning they sent me a e-mail saying the release was pushed back to 10 Dec, then Friday morning I got another e-mail saying the release was pushed forward to 3 December.

No 3D on BBC America, so the blu-ray will be the first time I see it in 3D!

Was this via the BBC red button as I searched the channels for the 3D screening and couldn't find it

My Amazon order for the 3D blu is on it's way.

Certain theaters showed it in 3d on Monday in the usa as a fantom event.

I saw it at 730 Monday 25th. There was another showing at 10pm that night.

It seemed like almost everyone was either dressed up or had a sonic with them.

I'd say the 3d was really great depth was fantastic
No real pop outs though. Spoilers so I will not expand.

Hoping they add the extras that were shown before and after the showing.

I know they did, but I wasn't going to spend $15 to see it. I love Doctor Who, but I could easily wait for the 3D blu-ray for not much more money.

Does anyone know if the blu-ray disc is region free?

If it isn't, could someone pick up the lenticular slipcover and the trading cards for me?
The UK blu-ray didn't get either of those.

Urm, I didn't ask about the 3D.
I asked if the blu-ray disc was region free.
Why would you answer a question that wasn't even asked?

Is this a movie in which you pretty much need to have watched Doctor Who to know what is going on or is it entertaining as a standalone movie to someone who only occasionally has seen an episode?

Wound up picking this up this morning at BB for $16.69 on a price match. I figured at that price, worth a blind buy. Have a couple other movies I want to watch first, but will also post my thoughts on it once I get a chance to watch it.

Watched the BD 3D last night.

IMO, this production is a strong-3D experience having amazingly sharp detail to images and faces. No soft-look here like in some other earlier 3D filmed features.

As my first experience with the "Doctor Who" franchise, I really got into the science-fiction theme. The battle scenes have extraordinary native-3D CGI sequences and the live-action appears to be strong native-3D.
Enjoyed the experience immensely!
