Default Beer, Pubs, Bars and Clubs!!

So i'm sure i'm not the only man here who enjoys a good beer.
So let's get some beer talk going.. what are you fav beers/spirits? have any great pubs or clubs near you??

I'm sure there are some funny times we can all share.

I'm not exactly adventurous when it comes to beer.. I tend to stick to Fosters, Stella or Carling.

I'd ecspecially like the lads from the Surrey/London area to recommend some good pub's in the area.. I may not have been to

Default san diego

well I can only give advice from here in san diego.

the ould sod, on adams ave, is the greatest bar ever. especially during the week on 'bring an instrument night'.

next would be the now closed hidden door in poway.

guiness/guini (the plural form) and irish car bombs are typical. amf is also good. I have a friend who pounds those like shots of water at 'joltin joes' in la mesa.

Give me whisky, countries of origin: Ireland, Scotland, America (especially Kentucky). Those are in no particular order.

Pints? Fosters (but only as a warm up), Spitfire, London Pride, and I'll give any ale a go, Belgian beers are always worth a go, Guinness when I'm in the mood and cider every now and again in the Summer

Shorts? Sambuca, JD & ginger, JD & coke, tequila

Beers?

I know people on here won't like it, but I prefer the French ones myself, so a bit of Kronenbourg always goes down well. Otherwise its got to be Hoegarden or Grolsch. I only ever have Guiness once a year on Paddy's day, can't stand the stuff.

Best bar in the UK - Koko in Camden, awesome music, student prices on a Wednesday (I think, memory is a bit foggy for obvious reasons). Pubs, World's End again in Camden, or The Moon in Enfield.

Spirits - Havana Club Especial (the proper Cuban stuff, none of that Bacardi crap you lot get in the States), partial to a bit of Smirnoff Blue not that into spirits really, too expensive!

Cigars - Cohiba.

cabo is fantastic camaro. especially during the summer i am there once a weekend at least. it really depends on what i can "find" so to speak.

as for spirits, i love almost all of them but prob with a lean towards gin. so, i'll list each of my favorites of each brand.

vodka: goose
gin: bombay sapphire
rum: one my buddy brings back from the carribean when he goes (has a leather wrap if anyone knows)
tequila: either milagro romance or 1942 don julio
scotch: benrinnes (have only been able to find when i've been in edinburgh)

I should add: Sailor Jerry Rum. Many people don't even know what this is. It's 92 proof, and puts more popular and expensive rums (Bacardi, Captain Morgans) to shame. I start w/ a swig from the bottle, then mix it w/ Cherry Coke, but the night always ends w/ me drinking it straight from the bottle.

rum is way too sweet for my tastes typically. i keep it on hand, but it is never a staple of my collection. there is a reason i have handles of vodka, gin, and seagrams (nasty, but great for 7 & 7's)

I've heard of this but I've never had it. I'm going to start looking for it around here.

I like Hennessy, Patron, Grey Goose, Belvedere, and Crown Royal.

Beers: Corona, Newcastle, Stone IPA

In honesty, anything with alcohol except Guiness and similar. I love all the normal lagers and ales (and there are some great ones around this way) plus wine and spirits.

Ok, so not an inspiring answer.

Pubs? The Bell in East Molesey is really nice, Anglers and Tide End Cottage in Teddington (next to the studios) are both great as well as The Teddington Arms on Broad Street.

Mmmm, for a quiet drink with a girl try The White Hart in Hampton Wick (Kingston roundabout). A little way up the Teddington Road from there are a couple of nice pubs, particularly the one on the left that has blue tiles on the outside, the name escapes me - good food.

Don't really go into Kingston to drink often, but the Dukes Head is good, on the Portsmouth Road end of the Applemarket.

What places can you recommend?

Clubs wise, I haven't been clubbing for ten years or so, I'm a little bit past that stage in my life to be honest. If I'm not in bed by 11 with my Horlicks and dressing gown then I'm a real mess the next day.

I drink in The Bell quitw often.. the lack of live football and how dead it can get are the downers.
Superb jukebox tho
I tend to favour The Cannon or The Europa.. as I just dont think a pub is a pub without noisy drunks and clouds of smoke!!

The Wellington in WOT is nice.. and there's a place near Byfleet train station that I cant remember the name of.. but it was very friendly had nice screens and about 4 pool tables.

When I say clubs I meant social clubs Like Workingmans or something.. great for a cheap pint!!

I'm suprised there has been very little mention of Vodka in the thread so far!

well, if vodka is your poison of choice

im a big fan of the vodka bull when beginning to tire out, vodka cran and 7 is always nice and refreshing, and who can ever argue with a good vodka tonic... especially after a nice hike or morning of waterskiing

and after the nights of getting pissed, a bloody mary always eases your pain

Stella is my beer of choice. Los Angeles was a Stella Free zone until about five years ago... I almost wept tears of joy when my local pub, Fox & Hounds on Ventura Blvd. started carrying it.

Aside from that, love the Newcastle Brown or Spitfire.

Vodka - Goose, smirnoff (red & blue label), ketel one

Gin - Gordons, bombay

Local pubs in the area -- Fox & Hounds (Ventura + Vineland) or The Robin Hood (Burbank + Woodman).

Aside from pubs, you can't beat a gin Martini at Musso & Frank's.

But when back home in England, I'll be downing a pint or three at the Red Cow in Sandwich, Kent.
