The slides are for evenly aging (breaking in) the panel for the first 100 hours, I have done it with all three of my sets. I then use D-Nice's calibration settings and have been very very happy with the results. One day I may call Chad-B who lives up the road and have him come calibrate all of my displays. You don't have to run the slides but it also allows you to make sure you have no pixel issues right out of the box as well.

Chad B is doing some AMAZING work on these 2013 sets. His post calibration reports are darn near perfect. I already had mine calibrated but I am debating getting him to come do it to mine.
