1 million is a nice accomplishment, though as suggested above, by limiting the supply much like Nintendo did with the hard to find Wii from years ago, it created a marketing spike where potential buyers saw and heard the system was hard to find, and then went out to try to get one of the rare systems on the market, increasing demand by decreasing supply; along with good marketing about new features.
Now that both systems (PS4 and XB1) are hard to find before Christmas, it'll help increase anticipation to buy more systems once they roll them out of the factories. Or is that off the mark? It can be argued that the console's features make a bigger difference. |
