The Hunger Games: Mockingjay Part 1

I've read all 3 novels and I don't care for Peeta, I wonder if that will change after the Mockingjay sequels but I doubt it.

I hope they stay very close and truthful to the book, but here is one thing I want them to change no matter what:

[Show spoiler]Finnick's death. His death was handled soooo poorly. It was an abomination. If they decide to kill him off, make it an awesome scene that hurts you so much. You have to feel a BIG loss when he dies.

I don't care about Finnick but I imagine a lot of people feel the same way you do so chances are he and Johanna will both go out in a blaze of glory fighting the Capitol.

[Show spoiler]She didn't make the cut to join the glamour squad due to going insane after the Quarter Quell so yeah I think she made it but that's a rather boring ending for her. Chances are they'll spice it up for the films.

[Show spoiler]Ah yes, she got traumatized by all that water torture. So I am happy she made it out alive (althoug probably insane), but I agree, I want to see her fight the Capitol. Johann is awesome. Same goes for Jena Malone

I want a happy ending for Katniss and I imagine after all this suffering and violence and trauma there's a good chance she's going to get a different ending than the one in the book. However I agree with the events of the book so not sure how they could really change the ending that much and still keep me happy oh well. This is almost 2 years away so no sense in worrying about it now.

I'd be totally happy if they kept the ending from the book to be honest.

I am so excited to see the look, style and tone of the film. The first two films felt very much like the novels.

The ending of book is pretty happy, it gives you the sense of hope and that things can get better. I don't want them to change it - I loved the ending. This is a series about a war and the consequences of it, if you were to change the ending than you'd be completely misinterpreting the entire series.

[Show spoiler]I don't like Peeta or Gale so I kinda wish she could end up with someone else but those seem to be her only 2 viable suitors so I guess Peeta was the only realistic choice.

[Show spoiler]But that is such an irrelevant side plot in the ending. Actually, she's kind of forced to be with Peeta as she knows she can't be with Gale. Either way, her decision isn't a big part of the final IMO

[Show spoiler]Yeah I know, I guess a lot of readers like Gale and wanted her to end up with him but he always struck me as a douche and the further the books went along, the further he and Katniss grew apart so it was obvious they weren't going to end up together. I may actually be anticipating Mockingjay 2 more than I am anticipating Superman vs Batman.

I wonder where they're filming the District 13 and Capitol battle scenes, guessing I'll find out soon enough. Julianne Moore is the perfect choice for President Coin, will be fun watching her and Katniss have cat fights. I do wonder if Josh Hutcherson will ever be able to step out of the shadow of Peeta Mellark but I doubt it, the kid is simply not that good of an actor.

So is Cinna (Lenny Kravitz's character) dead? In Catching Fire you're only shown him get beat into a bloody pulp and unconscious, do they execute him or is he imprisoned?

My favorite in the HP franchise is DH PT 1.

I welcome more Katniss and I think it will give the screenplay room to breathe but the quality of the films will no doubt depend on how they handle the filler they add to flesh out the book more.
