Default Iron Man replaces Batman Begins as the best comic film adaptation?

I've seen the debates all over the boards about Iron Man And Batman Begins. I can't say one is better than the other. They were both amazng in their own way. I can tell you which one I liked better and will have longer lasting replay value for me. For me its Iron Man. Amazing Directing, Allstar performances, and the ressurection of a forgotten career. Welcome back Robert Downey Jr., you've set a new standard.

No. Now if you want to talk Movie wise you have to seperate them.

Marvel: Iron Man
DC: Batman Begins

Now if you want to talk best superhero of all-time everybody is still going to say Superman.

Iron Man is better. It appeals to Comic Book Fans. Kids. Adults. Teens. Has a good plot, good comedy (which is rare from Marvel). Good battle sequences. Just all around better. I love Batman Begins, but Iron Man just does everything great.

Iron Man has way better replay value as well. I can only watch Batman Begins every once and a while but I have seen Iron Man 4 times already, and plan on a few more visits

As great as Iron Man was, nothing compares to a man dressed in a bat suit. Christan Bale's Bruce Wayne was slightly better than Robert Downey Jr's Tony Stark. When I left the theatre after seeing Batman Begins, I thought I had just seen the greatest comic book movie of all time. After I watched Iron Man I said , this is the greatest comic book movie since Batman Begins. Batman Begins started a fad that comic book movies could be taken serious and not just as popcorn movies. Batman Begins is the new standard for how a comic book movie should be made. Iron Man is just the first to graduate the class.

Iron Man ftf'nw, Batman Begins is overhyped and so is the sequel, Iron Man is just better in everyway Batman Begins was just boring imho. I know i'm gonna catch some fire from some of the bat-trolls around here for this...

I found bits of BB slow and boring, but it was interesting. It wasnt a typical Batman movie the first hour. Iron Man was better though

Batman, to me was the better movie hands down. Iron Man was too childish and honestly, even though I still thought it was good, I was just waiting for it too end. And ending that was a little on the anticlimactic side. BB takes the edge in every conceivable category: acting, story, pace, directing, action. And wherever the realm of realism concerning comic books is, BB is the closest. Iron Man is still a little over the top, I understand that the point of comic book movies isn't to be believable but that's just what BB did. I forgot at certain points in the movie that Batman was my favorite childhood superhero.

Have you seen the original Superman? Iron Man and Batman Begins simply wouldn't exist if not for the success of the original Superman movie.

I've seen Iron Man 4 times already as well. It has great replay value.

Batman Begins I really liked and have always loved Batman. I didn't care for the camera work in Begins so much thou. But I have very high expectations that The Dark Knight is going to blow me away.

Both movies set up for a even better sequel. So they have that in common. Soon we will see In the case of Batman.

But I actually love the first two Spider-Man movies over Iron Man and Batman Begins.

They are all such great movies that bring our favorite hero's to life. Not much reason in ranking them other than for fun.

The Dark Knight seems like good replay value, because the backround was played out in Begins. I have seen Iron Man in theaters more than I have seen Batman Begins in theaters, dvd, HD DVD all combined. Until Batman becomes Batman, it just doesnt appeal to me as a comic book movie. But it is a very good movie and appealed to me as a movie goer. I realize that its the story of where he became Batman, but its really not great to see the background story more than once.

The thing is, you will never find more supporters of Iron Man than Batman. They arent in the same league superhero wise. Batman is sooo much more popular, and Batman fans will NEVER EVER say a Marvel movie is better even if it is

I'm a Batman fan and think Marvel makes great movies. Not sure why there needs to be some divide amongst fans.

OK, now i havent seen Iron Man, but ill be honest, I think Robert Downey Jr. is a horrible actor and thats whats stopping me from even seeing it. Can anyone tell me how the acting is, besides the computer design aspect of it...

That's like comparing Robert Deniro playing a mob boss to Billy Bob Thornton playing a frigging retard. Bruce Wayne, especially the Frank Millerish Dark Knight version of Batman, is basically playing a conflicted emo. Compare that with the stark Stark change from millionaire playboy arsenal of democracy pimp to self effacing regret laden man set out to correct the mistakes of his past.

I loved Batman Begins, but as with most DC comic characters the source material simply lacks depth.

Both were great movies, but simply due to humor I definitely have to give it to Iron Man.
Oh, and the entire theater was cheering when the Indy4 trailer came on...I'm guessing that went on just about everywhere?

Iron Man is better than Batman Begins. Batman Begins is great, but Iron Man is a step above. I'm a bigger Batman fan than Iron Man growing up. Never cared much for Iron Man, but collected Batman. Iron Man was a more complete movie. The deference was Favreau was the difference.

I think both were great movies in their own right. I am more of a Batman fan, so I think I will always favor his movies above Iron Man movies. With that being said, I feel Batman Begins was a better film because I was more into the film and glad it was well done.

One more note: While I am certain I will want The Dark Knight on bluray, I don't really care about getting Batman Begins -- it's one of those where I think it is a great movie but not worth rewatching the slow parts to see again (*cough* Star Wars: Episode IV). Halfway through Iron Man I told my wife this is a first day buy on Blu.

I'm not a huge Downey Jr fan either. But I thought he was amazing in this. The acting in this movie was phenomenal. If there was a week link in the chain, I would have to say it was Gwyneth Paltrow. She wasn't bad, it's just that Howard, Bridges, and Downey Jr were acting circles around her.
