I'd be happy with digibooks for the rest of the Rocky films. I'm sure there is some nice material that could be used for each film. Make it happen Fox!

AND there are extras for II to V, I'll give the 'Heavyweight Collection' a miss.

Edit: I see the question of new versions of the other movies has just been answered. I'll get the new Rocky standalone and junk the SE DVD, then.
I think the remastered version will be a nice upgrade over the original disc.

I want companies to be greedy. Greed is good. I want them to want my money. Greed is good. I want them to spend every waking moment trying to think of ways to talk me out my money. Greed is good.

Ditto... I'm fine with the transfers of the sequels, but making them bare bones (except for Balboa, of course, which was released when blu-ray was coming around) is annoying, when there's an abundance of extras that fans have been posting online. Seriously, that Rocky IV teaser trailer...

I know how you feel man. Vince Dicola's synthesizers are haunting. The camera crawl reminds me of the teaser for Terminator 2. But Rocky 4 was first, so we know who inspired who, hehehe.

Just checking.

I don't have any of the Rocky films on Blu-Ray (and I only have the 2-Disc SE of the first one on DVD), so I'll probably look into the Heavyweight Collection...

It would be nice if the sequels were remastered from the first box set release.

As long as they don't make the covers looks like bad PS2 video game covers then I'll buy anything Rocky-related lol. There's so many iconic images they could use for the covers.

I like my stand-alone Blu-rays of the first four movies, but I will double-dip with Rocky if the reviews of the new transfer indicate a noticeable improvement.

The current Blu-ray looks good to my eyes, though. The first Rocky has always been a drab-looking flick, but the high definition transfer shines through in a handful of scenes.

Rocky III and Rocky IV both look quite good in their current Blu-ray incarnations.

I agree which is why I'm scratching my head at the UK steelbook artwork.

For God sakes, Rocky IV made $300 Million dollars in the worldwide back in 1985! If that is not a good enough reason to give it the Special Edition treatment, I dont know what is.

Domestic: $127,873,716
Foreign: $172,600,000
= Worldwide: $300,473,716

RoboCop made Total Gross: $53,424,681 in 1987 Domestic, worldwide N/A.
Rocky made Total Gross: $117,235,147 in 1976 Domestic, worldwide N/A.
The Terminator made Total Gross: $38,371,200 in 1984 Domestic , worldwide $78,371,200.

I only own the first movie and have contemplated getting the sequels for a while, so might just do it with this new release.

I discovered Rocky just 2 years ago (hadn't seen it EVER because sports films aren't my thing at all) and I loved it! I even liked the other ones too (haven't seen the more recent one though).
So, I think I'll buy this new collection.

I am glad I waited. I have the SE DVD of Rocky1 and then the DVDs of 2-4 and Balboa. Anyone want my Blu of Rocky V? Otherwise it goes in the garbage.

Don't throw it away. You could always donate it to your local library or VA hospital. Just an idea.

I'll definitely get this set seeing as I've yet to upgrade the films from DVD.

I was thinking of getting the current BD set but I'll wait for this new set before upgrading seeing as the 1st film is getting remastered.

My DVD of the 1st film is non-anamorphic and it looks terrible, so the upgrade should be pretty huge.

Yeah, I'll stick with the current set that I have. I might pick up the remastered version of the original, but I wont be worried about this new set unless there are dramatic changes.

Has anybody been able to confirm if the sequels will be remastered or not?
