Henry: Portrait of a Serial Killer. Released in 1990, but filmed in 1986.

Nice. How does Dorm That Dripped Blood look on Blu ray? It's about the only 80's slasher I havn't upgraded.

If Mortuary counts as a slasher, put me on the list of those who would like a blu ray release of it

It's coming from Scorpion Releasing sometime in 2014.
And I think it counts, the list is of Slasher-esqu films, essentially. A lot have heavy slasher elements, but aren't full slashers. Like The Fog, Chopping Mall, Night Train to Terror and Manhunter.

I think it's great. Granted I've only seen the blu-ray and the Pranks vhs.
I thought it looked pretty good, but the audio blew me away. Nice isolated score as well.

Dorm looked good but I didnt like the movie. I recently watched Mortuary and was really surprised about how good and lively it was. It is slasher esque indeed..
Well it did have Bill Paxton in it

Think the upcoming Synapse release's of Phenomena and Tenebre should be added to the coming soon list.

PS: and guess Grindhouse's Pieces also.

A 70's one would be cool. There is a good amount of 70's slasher/slasher type flicks on BD. Maybe I'll start one.

Maybe because this is the North America Blu-ray forum? US & Canada make sense to me. And heck, lets include Mexican bootlegs too, lol.

Is My Bloody Valentine any good? I saw the trailer and it looks pretty boring.

Well, its my favourite 80's stand alone slasher, so its good

It has a great setting, nice atmosphere and some of the most likeable slasher characters. Plus the killer and kills are awesome.

If you like 80s slashers, it is one of the best. Well-directed, awesome kills (in the unrated cut), and slightly different than a lot of other slashers from the time since it is about adults and not teenagers and it takes place in a mining town instead of the suburbs or a college campus.

Looking at the original post, there are some listed that I haven't seen. Curtains, Dead Kids…I will have to snatch those up when they get announced.

I just bought the latest edition of House on Sorority Row and Final Exam so I probably won't upgrade to those Blus for a while but I am glad to see them getting released.

I want to get Slumber Party Massacre, but I am waiting to find out what the extras will be and maybe even read a review of the transfer quality before ordering.

You have the option of watching the original unrated cut or the R-rated theatrical cut. It is a decent blu ray release overall. I have watched it quite a few times since buying it when it came out a few years back.
