This is so true what you say! I realize now that I also have neglected my dvds ever since I started collecting a lot of blu rays..

Add me to that list. Even though my Blu collection is but a small fraction of the size of my DVD collection, whenever I walk over to my movies to pick something to watch, I go straight for the Blus.

DVD's and Blu 's separate.
Alphabetical order.
Sequels together regardless of title.
All 007's filed under B for Bond.
Animated movies together at the end in alphabetical order.

I do the same thing. Although my dvd's are not so organized anymore as my focus has shifted to the blus.

Movies A-Z
Criterion movies (A-Z) found at the letter C
Foreign by country and A-Z
TV A-Z
Music A-Z
Sports A-Z
Animation A-Z

I've toyed with the idea of separating them by genre's but that seems daunting.

Another crisis! What to do with The Wolverine? Do I put it in the W's or put it in the X's, right after X-Men Origins: Wolverine?

Great collection! I need a few bookshelves like that. I don't have as many movies as you do but that extra space on the shelves will be for future purchases.

I'd keep it with the X-Men films, myself.

I just reorganized my movie library. Separated by sections: Blu-ray, DVD, TV series, 007 movies under J for James Bond (though I'm thinking abou changing it to B for bond), all Clint Eastwood films under C, Disney and war movies separate. This system is a little chaotic at times, but I'm working on completing a master list in Excel so we know what we own and what section it's in. I'm facing that typical storage dilemma that all collectors get at least once though, so until we move into a bigger place some stuff will be stored in boxes.

For the sake of shelf space I place all my Digibook's, Digibooks, and big Collector's Editions on the top shelf. My next shelves contains all my normal amarays, and at the end I keep my Criterion titles.

[Show spoiler]

That looks a lot like how I've got mine set up. Whose autograph is on that baseball? I keep the Mickey Mantle one my grandfather gave me on the shelf where I keep my blu's

It's actually signatures of some players who use to play in the Negro League; Sherwood Brewer, Frank Marsh, Ira McKnight. I'm honestly not too familiar with them but I keep it for sentimental value because my dad took me to a military base when I was a kid where they were signing them.

Another reason not to alphabetize!

I've tried doing that, but it never works for me. There are just too many movies that can't be placed in one single genre for me.
