This is a solid question. I can PM you further instruction if need be. Just let me know.

1) Locate copies of said movies in the series. You can buy them if confident you will like them. Also, you may rent them. If they are in your collection, go to the shelf and remove them for viewing.

2) Put them in order. You can do this by checking the numbers on the package. Sometimes this may be tricky as they might not have numbers on them. If this is the case, I suggest IMDB to assist you. You may also PM me and I will research it for you.

3) You then watch them in the order you organized from Step 2. You may want to line them up on the floor so you don't get confused and forget which order you need to watch them in. You could also make a list or "cheat sheet" during step 2 to refer to.

4) Congrats! You did it.

I hope this made sense and didn't overwhelm you. I realize this is can be overwhelming when attempting to have a movie marathon. Again, myself or other members are always here to assist so feel free to start a future thread "I think I messed up my "X" marathon and you can be reassured assistance will be swift.

If you want to be selective and stick to the best of the series watch 1, 3 and 4 as a trilogy, then skip to New Nightmare to round out it out.

Otherwise watch them in order except for part 2. The story is so completely different and off the arc of the rest of the series that IMHO it derails the experience. Watch it after New Nightmare as an alternate universe kind of story.
