Since the format war ended, I have avoided that forum as I believe some mods there remain HD DVD bitter.

...and that is such a shame as it is only "stuff". People are more important and to lose sight of that is bad. There is NO excuse for mods to act like that over a format war. I am still waiting for the AM/FM thing to get resolved.

In July-ish ? ? ? ?
(The Lost people have been speaking about it recently).

Two definite things to do while you’re there.
1st –
From the Convention Center walk north up the sidewalk past the Marriott, thru Seaport Village, etc. and get your arse on the harbor cruise that takes you around San Diego Harbor.
(if you walked to “Anthony’s”, you went too far, turn around and go back about 200 yards).
It’s a pleasant cruise where you get to see a lot of things like the Navy ships currently docked in port, where the Seals train, babes sunning topless on sailboats, etc.

2nd –
Walk east several blocks from the Convention Center to the “Gaslamp Quarter” and have dinner at Croce’s Restaurant.
Ingrid (his wife) opened the place as a tribute to her late husband (Jim Croce ) and she is the owner/hostess. His son comes in occasionally to jam, who has made a name for himself, in his own right.
Everything on the menu is excellent.
Give ‘em some love and your dinero.

P.S.
If you go to Coronado to visit the “Del” or walk along the magnificent beach in the morning and see a dog running with/chasing a local Seal team………..that critter probably be mine, as we’ve got a summer place there…….and I like to keep some of dem boys in shape.
Anthonys is a great place for lobster. I was at SDCC last year and plan on going again in 09

Nah, I'm not demanding or anything ;p Yeah it's late July
If we ever meet I'll tell you the story of how a guy from Dreamworks, The Island and the calling in of favors got my brother's girlfirend....quite feisty Needless to say I was bone tired and really didn't need the show on the other side of the wall

Is that Anthony's Fish Grotto? If it's the one parked next to the Martime Museum, you can go see the HMS Suprise from Master and Commander It's way cool and totally worth the $10. 4 ships including a sub plus the museum.

That David Lean fest makes me weep, I'd be in for Lawrence, Zhivago and Kwai for sure

EDIT

And they're showing Patton in 70mm on the 30th

Dude, you gotta stop the mind reading and acting before I tell you!!! I need service with a smile and a 60 day delay

Considering the treatment you got over there, you don't need bitter mods to have a reason to permanently stay way.

Having never seen Lawrence of Arabia, this sounds like a great way to experience it for the first time.
I'm marking my calendar.

It's my one mission in life, to restore the proper spelling of "lose" on the internet. You know it's getting bad when you see it in print media!

Default Filmography ?

One thing me and the wife miss on Blu (and on DVD before) are the kind of Filmographies (and sometimes Biographies) that would often be included on Laserdisc releases.
While these days we have Wiki and IMD, it would still be a big plus to have easy aces to key players other works easily available on the same disc as the movie.

Do you happen to know why this wasn't carried over from Laser ? And is there anyone you could gently (or not so gently) bug to maybe get it back ?

Much thanks for your ongoing input btw, I've been following since the beginning and it's much appreciated.
- also your regular Coyote news. I also live here in Southern CA and often come surprisingly close on hikes.

Probably for the same reason as why the current generation likes Supercross more than traditional outdoor motocross.

Well it's good to see you posting.

If on one of your forays into the wilderness you hear a bloke yelling out “Maya” which is pronounced “My-yuh”, and she looks like this……………………

That be me……and the lady.

Time for another clue as to the classic film scheduled for a complete digital restoration [by Asset Management for archiving]…..which may have some bearing on the production of a Blu-ray edition in ’09 or 2010.

Well, this really isn’t a new clue, it’s just further clarification of an old one.
Meaning, the clue I gave several pages back in the past is actually the same (exactly) as the *handle* or online screen name of one of the posters on this page…………………….

...

This would appear to be an excellent use of Profile 2.0.

The disc could link to filmographies / biographies on the net which could be kept up to date. Possibly it could also link to previews or other movies the actor/actress has been in.
