sure, TWOWS was a great film (as is nearly anything that marty touches), but it was highly derivative of some of his other films already mentioned in previous posts (namely goodfellas, casino, raging bull, etc), in which we see the meteoric rise and inevitable fall of the main character. it seems like scorsese has been making the same films thematically, but just changing the plot details.
True, it does follow a similar arc in storytelling (of a rise and fall of the character) such as in those previous films mentioned, BUT, this film does it so well and in my opinion, does it better than Casino and is on par with only Raging Bull and Goodfellas. I think only time will tell just how much of a modern day classic this movie will be. Right now, I'd put this film in the upper echelon of Scorcese's canon of work (alongside Raging Bull and Goodfellas) for sure.

Well it did except the box was too small so everything was jammed in there causing more damage again. I've never had any of those problems with blowitouttahere.
I've never had any troubles with ImportCDs packaging. I've ordered many times from them and have never received any damaged items.

Now their shipping speed is another thing entirely...

I have no idea why they still use DHL. DHL sucks.

Worst carrier on planet Earth and that's a fact. I've used them for business and for personal shipping. CONSISTENTLY, 9/10 packages had some sort of a problem. Mind boggling that they're still around. At least they got kicked out of United States. Good riddance. Europeans need to get a clue ASAP. Out of a dozen, or so Blu-ray orders which shipped via DHL from Amazon EU, guess how many actually got to my house? ZERO!

Or you buy a plane ticket to NY, buy as many Criterions as you can and fly back.

Wait... so they're 0 for 12? Do you have to get them shipped via another carrier or just get refunds?

Not Criterion related but: Does anyone else here own the Kino or MOC blus of Die Nibelungen? I'm in the middle of it right now, and it's blowing me away. The picture quality is amazing and the score sounds enormous. On top of that, the film is highly entertaining for a film of it's age. I highly recommend anyone who hasn't picked this up, to do so.

Yup, big fat 0. Amazon sends an email that the address was undeliverable to and I get a full refund (after three weeks). Then I have to complain and tell them to ship via a different carrier. You can't choose a carrier at initial checkout. If more people complained, maybe Amazon would stop using DHL scums.

I have one (MoC) and, yes, it's amazing. It's a very good story, too.

I don't own Die Nibelungen right now, but I will probably pull the trigger in 2014.

Default B&N blu ray sale?

I know this has been asked multiple times on here I apologize just on travel so my service is bad w/o wifi or 4g speed.

When does the 40% off sale at b&n end? Thought it was 1/2/14? I'm like many people on a Scorsese kick and wanna get black narcissus

This film is sheer madness. It's by far DeCaprio's greatest performance of all time. Scorcese and Leonardo hit this one way out of the ballpark (into another realm). Scorcese made the ultimate movie about greed and excess and all taking place in his hometown, NYC. It's a movie that will be talked about for ages to come.
Sacrilegious indeed! Whoa! I was talking to some friends last night and went as far as to say this was Leo's best film. This is a really special film and I'm glad Scorsese made it! He continues to be one of the industries best.

Have you checked the UK Criterion thread - https://forum.blu-ray.com/showthread.php?t=203888 See how they buy their DVD/BR. One thing I have read about B&N is that they split parcels so the value is low and the success rate for evading customs is low.
Ive had NOTHING but hassle with amazon, ALL YOUR MUSIC is particular, items came every damaged, crushed/knife wounds! or items not even coming!

They even said am I over reacting, I'm like I'm paying a fortune here for a brand new item, not one crushed, or cut open with a knife! i even supplied photography proof which wasn't enough lol

Ive made claims and amazon has helped but now the company (ALL YOUR MUSIC) is refusing to admit they are in wrong, they sent items in the thinnest plastic envelope!

Basically now, they ar refusing to help me and actually have told me to take my business elsewhere! when all I done was told them to use better packaging haha.

Not had problems with other sellers but I like sound of this ebay seller

!! ah yes! that horrible packing is used load on Amazon, its horrifying, i've had the plastic wrap on Blu MELT to the criterion Blu (horrifying!) and even had custom slice right through the case lmao, its shocking!

Ive had SO many missing packages, it even looks suspicious but its genuine, not sure if someone is nicking my post or the carrier is losing them, but its so frustrating when I need for a deadline and they don't come. Luckily Amazon have a hassle free rfund system when this issue happens although I have had a warning I'm doing it too much but I can't help items coming damaged or lost, Im paying for brand-new items lol.

I own MOC's release, and while I found the film to be quite good, I much prefer Lang's Dr Mabuse, Der Spieler, which MOC recently released (and gave quite the lovely steelbook treatment as well.)

I give props to Marty for holding out multiple years till he found a producer that would let him make the film uncensored. Wouldn't of had the same flare without that. Easy Leo's best movie by a mile. Too bad he won't win best actor for like the millionth time now...

They sometimes send in boxes which usually is perfect quality, but majority of time I get the vacuum pack and it causes problems like, being scratched, as I said knife cuts??! and even the melting the case!

They were fine for a while but they have just turned quite nasty now and refusing to sell me anything cause of all my claims, despite sending photos of all the damaged goods. Shocking tbh as it's their fault lol

It was DeCaprio's best film for sure. For the 5th collaboration with Marty, he finally found perfection here. I think he was born to play this role (to be honest).
